definitely try to drive out to Banff. The drive from Calgary to Banff is the second most beautiful I've ever done (next to Vancouver to Whistler). Also check out the town of Drumheller, I think I heard somewhere it's the largest dinosaur fossil deposit on earth.

+1. I was there last august. Best place i've been to. The drive to banff was good. While in banff make sure to check Lake Louis, Morraine Lake and Gondola to sulfur mountain. The views were amazing.

As a Calgarian living in Calgary for the summer, there can be lots to see depending on your type of thing.
Canada Sports Hall of Fame at Canada Olympic Park is amazing, you could spend HOURS inside, then you can also poke around the rest of Canada Olympic Park. The Calgary Zoo, might not match up to the Toronto Zoo, but still pretty cool. Telus Spark Science Center (right next to the zoo) has a lot of interesting exhibits, and some hands on things. The Glenbow Museum is another big one here as well. Calgary Tower just for the view, though with the new buildings going up, the view might not be as good.
Banff and Lake Louise are major. If you enjoy driving (and not in a straight line) take highway 1A instead of highway 1 towards Banff (through a few small towns). If you want to venture even further, Waterton Lakes National park about 3 hours south is just stunning. Kananaskis Provincial park, between Calgary and Banff, has some pretty cool stuff, and there's apparently a highway that goes through Kananaskis down to highway 3, which apparently has some amazing scenery (I'll probably try to drive this on Sunday and see what all the hype is all about). The badlands in and near Drumheller aare really cool, Royal Tyrell Museum has some cool stuff in there.
And if you want, you can drive the 3 hours to Edmonton and check that out too.
Give me the general area of where you're staying, and I could probably point you in the direction of good food too!
