I wanna add some serious power and sound to my 3. What do you think of this?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MAZDA-T3-T4-TURBO-CHARGER-31-Intercooler-PIPING-KIT-Wastegate-BOV-EGT-FEED-CB-/221032964297?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AMazda%7CModel%3A3&hash=item33769760c9#ht_5376wt_1168
hopefully that works. I have an 08 2.0L sedan. Where would I get something like this put in/cost?

Did someone say Turbo!? My favourite topic! Woot!
•THIS TURBO KIT CAN ONLY FIT MAZDA WITH T3/T4 TURBO MANIFOLD AND T3/T4 5 BOLT DOWNPIPE .
•YOU NEED TO CUSTOM MAKE THIS TURBO KIT.
•THIS KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE T3/T4 TURBO MANIFOLD AND T3/T4 5 BOLT DOWNPIPE
also please stop looking at generic ebay turbo kits
if you are in fact serious, there is a good turbo build thread, and a few members on here that have done it successfully.
suggest you seach first, then ask questions.
Also make sure you have the budget for it. i.e not $600

It's the only answer since the dawn of the 3.
the answer cannot always be "buy a speed3", since people may not have the money to just simply buy a new car

true, but instead of just running out and buy a car willy nilly and then wanting to boost it you should do your research and save toward being able to get aspeed3 or w/e other car

my point was simply this:
1. If you have the budget to do it properly, you can successfully boost a regular 3 as it has been done before.
2. Ebay turbo kits are shit
3. suggesting to buy a speed3 anytime anyone mentions boost isn't usefull advice (even if it makes more sense)

I think a speed3 is a better option, it comes with a LSD, stiffer suspension, tighter steering..... it would cost a lot to make a 3 do what a speed3 does

That is the point. Doubt op has the funds to mod his 3 up to par with speed3.

If you can afford to dump all that cash into a turbo kit, you could put a pretty hefty down payment on a speed. Probably coming close to putting the monthly payments on par with a regular 3. Provided the original car is not already paid off.

OP: if you didn't notice all the horse shit on that page, then you really should not be doing anything to your car until you do a lot more research.
You can't just plug in a turbo and go. It requires a lot of labour, a lot of tuning, and a lot of money to do it properly.

That is the point is it not? The OP has not even thought of the other components that will require upgrading/replacing to compensate for the addition of a turbo or supercharger. Once you add up those costs, may as well get the Speed3.

HAHA, before the Mazdaspeed Protege, it was simply swap a BP in.
For the cost of a speed, I bet you could build a regular 3 to your liking with more power, if you do all the labour yourself. That means fabrication, install and tuning

The only solution right here folks is an upgrade to a Mazdaspeed 3. Just look at all the problems one of our other members is currently having with a Hi-Boost turbo kit.

Dont recommend ebay turbo kits. Must agree that buying a speed 3 would be the easier route

The only issue I see is tuning.
Building a kit is not difficult for any fabricator.
I looked into to what it cost to boost my regular 3. After its all said and done, I think it's cheaper to upgrade to a preened speed 3 -which is what I ended up doing.
Sorry, iPhone autocorrect strikes again - *pre-owned* speed3
