Hi Everyone,
Just got back from the Mazda dealership as I was noticing oil stains on my driveway. It looked like the back passenger area and in the end it was a leaky strut. I also need new brakes but I knew this for a while. I decided to get a quote using the TM3 discount and the prices are below. They seem a bit high to me and I know there is a lot of sponsors on here. Just wondering if someone could recommend a sponsor and let me know what parts I should be looking for each. Lastly I am also looking at some tires and just wondering if $760 Tax in is a good deal for 205/50/R17 Continental DWS.
Brakes 4 Pads & Rotors = $668P&L + Tax
Struts 2x Rear = $350P&L + Tax
Thank you in advance appreciate everyone's help

Let's start with Brake Pads & Rotors -
Can likely be done for $350-400 non dealer. Start here for pads/Rotors - http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?60737-Nextmod-Aimco-Blanks-Magnum-Cross-Drilled-Rotors-Hawk-HPS-Pads-Special
Struts - Parts & Labour that price isn't terrible. But check here - http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?60272-Nextmod-Koni-Yellow-and-KYB-GR-2-Shocks-Special/page3 for struts.
For Labour - where are you located ? Street Performance is an often recommended option, Highline Motors if you are West.
Spend a few minutes, do some research.

If $668 is for pads and rotors all around including install, that's a good price.
If its just for the front or rear, that's not a great price.

theres a place called JR Auto in scarborough/Pickering (they are a sponsor) that can do a complete brake job for $400 (rotors/pads) which is the cheapest price ive seen but the pads/rotors are generic brand ones. I've had them for a over a month now and i've had a couple of people ask me where I got them cause they look great. my only problem with them is that I find the stopping power is weaker than OEM. I'll see how they last through winter and might opt to get Hawk HPS pads next spring/summer

u have another thread answering this question lol but yes Koni yellow is better than OEM struts if you are going to lower the car, if not than any other OEM-replacement (KYB, Monroe) would do

should also add that the Koni yellow is alot more expensive than Mazda OEM (unless u decide to get the Mazda OEM ones installed at a dealership lol)

Hi Everyone,
Just got the parts from Mazda and I am not sure what to believe. I was told by the Mazda dealership that I bought the parts from that my 2008 Mazda 3 2.3 GT; with 17" rims needs part BRY0-28-910 for the rear suspension. I was told by the dealership doing the work that I need BRY1-28-910 and that the BRY0's will not work. The dealership I bought them from tells me BRY0 supersedes the BRY1.
Does anyone know which one is true?
Thanks T

Maybe try calling a few more dealerships and see what the general consensus is.
I don't think anyone else is really going to know what part number supersedes what unless they work at Mazda. Maybe Booter22 can help you out. He's always quite helpful.
