Hi Everyone,
Last Saturday I had new shocks put on the back of my Mazda 3 2008 GT. I also had all 4 rotors and pads done. I am just wondering how long I should wait until I get an alignment done. I am getting new tires tomorrow and was hoping 1 week was long enough.
It has been 1 week and I have put on 250km of city driving since the shock replacement.
Thanks in advance for the replies
T
I think most of the replies I have seen on this forum are 1 - 2 weeks to allow everything to settle properly
edit: I'm thinking of springs...

That is what I read as well but just wanted to be sure. I ended up having a leaking back rear shock so I changed them both with OEM ones.. I unfortuntily live in an area with lots and lots of speed bumps. I figured they are probably the reason they broke and the reason they will get worked in quickly.

Replacing rear shocks really shouldn't have much if anything to do with your alignment. You should be fine to get an alignment as soon as you get the new tires put on. Springs need time to settle, shocks don't...

+1, No alignment is required with a rear shock replacement, struts it's a different story. Good idea to get the alignment checked though, if putting on new tires, just to be on the safe side.

I worked in a free alignment with the work I did at Mazda. Thanks for all the comments. Getting the tires tomorrow and the alignment Monday or Tuesday.
Thanks Terry
