Hi so im planning on installing some angel eyes on my 3... i understand the entire install but it comes down to the electrical.. Ive been debating on how i want them to turn on and i really like the idea of coming on and staying on at all times even with low beam on, i figure the low beams should give me what i want but the problem is from reading these angel eye kits have the led and the ballasts... Do these ballasts act as HID ballasts would on the low beam and flicker on daytime running light operation? If they do anything to cause quality issues is there a safe spot i can directly wire the ballasts to with out having to use a relay? I am going to be adding HIDs when i do this and wiring a relay to turn the HID's on with the corner markers to prevent flickering and to leave the angels to be on only in the day time... Also is there a difference in quality with different angel eye kits, like brightness or life span?

Thanks Dylan

Okay I will try and break down what I know to you.

Angel Eyes function on their own ballasts and do not flicker like HIDs in 04-06 models with single-beam configurations.

If you want your Angel Eyes to be on permanently, what I would do is

- Wire your current HIDs up to a relay harness so that they are off during the day and come on automatically in the evening.
- Take the wire that powers your AEs and splice it in with your ignition wiring in your fusebox.

That way, whenever you turn your ignition on your AEs will be on (so all the time) but it will prevent your corner markers from coming on with them (unless you switch them on yourself). During the day only your AEs will run, but at night your HIDs will kick in too, assuming you use the automatic setting on your headlights.

As for a difference in quality...I'm not 100% sure, but mine are CCFL ones and they look great even during the daytime.

i wired mine to the parking side lights so can have them on all the time or off what ever i want or you can get a switch for the switch area and have them installed that way too

A switch is not a bad idea except that people may eventually forget/get sick of turning them on and off manually all the time. I figured the ignition is a good spot for 04-06 models since it won't trigger our turn markers and run them as DRLs since we use relays to keep our HIDs off during the daytime.

sorry for reviving this thread but my angel eyes are currently connected to an empty spot in my fuse box and stays on 30-60sec after turning off inginition. I would like to wire it to the parking lights. Would you mind telling how you went about doing that? I drive a 2005 mzd 3 sedan
