Ok I found a fantasic deal on this setup, and I've been debating lowering my car *slightly* so this seems like an ideal choice since the prokit lowers less than an inch.
But- this is my first time ever touching the suspension so I've got some questions. Note - this is for a Gen1 Speed3
1) Does anyone have this setup/can they comment on it?
2) Do I have to worry about rubbing?
Summer wheels - Rims: 18x7.5 Offset +45 with 225/40
Winter wheels - pretty much same as stock i think, don't have the specs written down
3) Will I have to buy any other parts to make this work?
4) Will the camber be ok as is? (or if not, refer to q3)
5) This is my DD - am I going to regret lowering? lol
6) Should I be OK for the winter?
Thanks!

ProKits are a subtle, OEM-ride quality drop.
You will not rub
Some people claimed they needed camber arms - where some people did not. But you will need an alignment.
I daily drove my lowered MZ3 through 3 winters with no issues
It is a common set-up and both Koni and Eibach are stand up companies to deal with.

im stock on prokits.... i rub and cut....but thats just because i bought a wheel set up wtih a tire that was too wide. so im sure youll be ok as long as you pay attention to your wheel setup.

Prokits are kind of soft. If you are looking for improved handling, you might want to consider other springs that are a bit stiffer. If you want to go for the look, without changing up your ride too much, go with Prokits.

If you were in Toronto I have a set of stechs that would be good

your wheel set up with offset wont rub.
alignment is always needed but for the month I had my prokits, I didn't feel like I needed an alignment. (Haven't even gone with an alignment with my coils lol )
I've never regretted lowering (I've regretted and still regret raising it), they look good and feel good.
as for parts, I don't think you'd need a camber arms but it's good to have. If you do decide to go lower I'd say upgrade RSB and definitely get camber arms
I can't comment about winter, but my roads barely get snow plowed so I'm going to have to remove my lip.

im thinking of going with a sportlines + koni yellow setup for next summer but im worried the sportlines would make me rub and i would be forced to get a camber kit. i wish eibach came out with something in between a pro-kit and sportline drop since pro-kits are too subtle of a drop imo
^You know that eibach is not the only company that makes springs right?

So, based on the feedback, provided loosing an inch wont cause me to get marooned on a couple speedbumps that i unfortunately have to worry about, I think I'll go for this setup :)

speedbumps aren't a big deal, especially not on pro kits. You should consider Canuck Motorsports springs. They have two different drops (think prokits vs sportlines), and are stiffer than pro kits... cheaper too :)

...and the speedbumps here are ridiculous, they are massive (and everywhere)

Are they speed3 specific parts or did you find a set that is for the regular 3?

Yeah Montreal is bad for those LOL I wouldnt go any lower than PK's
ProKits have a mild drop and have an OEM-ish ride quality.
Your Konis will compensate and give you a better feel for the road
oh lol, yep jump on that haha
+1
$600 IS AN AWESOME FRICKIN DEAL!!!

yeah i know there are lol teins, H&R, canuck, and others...i should check out out canuck but i wonder how the quality is. I'm looking for something that would give an even drop all-around and not like the Teins.

i'm running a fully loaded, auto slushboxed 2008 mazda 3 hatch, and the prokits dropped me a lot more than i thought they would've. no rub of course, on the stock wheels and tires. might have something to do with the added weight of all the crap that comes on my car's trim level.

oh, and i forgot to mention, the bump stops weren't cut according to jimmy's recommendation. and i'm running about a half-finger gap in the front, one finger gap in the back, after settling!

wow thats pretty low (too low for me... maybe i should be looking at mazdaspeed accessory springs...)
The drop for speed3 will be different than regular mz3 (as will the rates etc). I would search 'pro kit speed3' to find more relevant evidence (no offense to anyone).
