Step by step guide for replacing springs

I have seen a few videos on the internet about swapping springs in our car:

But what I am looking for is a step by step visual of how to do it that I can print. I have seen these guides for flushing the transmission and
changing my spark plugs. If anyone has seen then, please direct me or provide me with some advice.

I think Jimmy does the change for a very reasonable price.

As a guy who's replaced springs with no mechanical spring compressor, it's well worth your money to get Jimmy to do it.

Thanks for the common sense. Jimmy will do it. I also read that an alignment is strongly recommended any time you make some adjustments in relation to the suspension. I can't do that.:P
As much as I have enjoyed several mechanical mods under the car, this is a big job and I have to know where to draw the line on my pride and ensuring my car remains safe and sound.:chuckle

You are correct, an alignment can never hurt (unless the place sucks), and is especially needed if you lower or raise your car.
It's not that it's a big job, and it could be done by myself if 4-5 hours, the concern is when you are using spring compressors. They are very dangerous is used incorrectly.

For what Jimmy charges, unless you are really hard up for cash it doesn't make any sense to do the work yourself. And if you *are* that hard up for cash you should probably think twice about spending in on mods anyway...........

Those guys are brave for compressing springs on their lap. I wouldn't recommend to do what they're doing. If you're doing springs, at least have the right tools, put the strut on a vise to reduce the chance of the spring slipping, flying off and hurting someone.

It's pretty damn easy to do once you've done it a few times...yes a spring compressor helps but you can get loaners at parts source or canadian tire for free if you don't own one. They don't cost that much though, like $50 from princess auto. The only thing is you will probably want a decent impact wrench to do it and a BFH :) lol
