Travelling within Canada
I understand that I need to show 2 gov ID with matching names on my reserved ticket.
My problem is I use my name let say John M Smith to purchase my flight ticket online.
My Driver license only has Michael Smith (no John).
My citzenship card has my full name John Michael Smith on it.
Passport has my full name too, but I accidently left it at parent's place and not able to go get it before my flight.

Is my Travel ID OK? Just with my citzenship card and my Driver license to board. The VISA card I use to book my flight has my full name as well.

I tried to call Air Canada to figure out, and the line is on hold forever!

a photo Health Card is technically not considered an "acceptable" form of Photo ID and, as such, an establishment can refuse to accept the photo Health Card as valid ID (i.e. a bar, the LCBO, the Beer Store, an airline, etc)

you should be fine with your Citizenship and Driver's License.

I was under this under this impression for a long time, but once I had friends work at the LCBO I learned the truth, the LCBO can not ASK for a health card (You should never be separated from it, for your own safety), but you as the card holder can pass it to who ever you like.

Thats just what the LCBO's policy.

I don't understand where you are hearing that you need 2 pieces of ID to travel within Canada

this is on an airplane correct? at an airport like Pearson?

i've only ever needed my driver's license to board a plane or travel within Canada.

SKYMP3, however, may have a different legal first name (could be a chinese name) and an English "middle" name that is his first name on the Driver's License but not on the boarding pass.

If the names don't match, they can technically deny him entry on the plane.

true, but most establishments still accept it

but i never really understood that because if an establishment requires you to give 2 pieces of photo ID and a health card is invalid what else do you give?
some people dont have passports or drivers licenses, the next best thing would be a health card

does your Citizenship card have your photo on it? if so, show that to security and at the gate in the airport to avoid being challenged.

my permanent residence card has my photo on it. I assume the citizenship card does too.

Yes, my citzenship card has my photo, DOB, height.
I remember they only check my passport last time I took a flight, no 2nd ID needed.

but that's what it says on AC web site, that's why I wonder.

Flights within Canada
At the boarding gate, a passenger must present:

Two (2) pieces of government issued non-photo identification with matching names as long as at least one piece also includes the date of birth and gender; or
One (1) piece of government issued identification with photo showing the name, date of birth and gender.
Carriage will be refused if the passenger:

does not appear to be the age indicated by the date of birth on the government-issued identification,
