My previous car was a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS which I lost due an inattentive driver coming out of a stop sign and wrecking my car. It was a decent car and served me well for six years, but I guess it was time to get a new ride.
I like the Mazda3's Sport Automatic. Still trying to get used to it, it is one of the few cars in which you pull back to increase gears and push forward to decrease them (the other cars I test drove had the reverse). Nonetheless, the gear shift is one of the funnest things of the vehicle.
Already impressed by the fuel economy. Halfway through my first tank and already have 400 km on it. Assuming that the dealership filled it to the brim, I'm hitting around 6.3L/100KM, which is far better than the max I could ever get on my Cobalt (7.5L/100KM). And this even includes some city driving!!!
Of course no car is perfect. Road noise is a titch louder than my previous Cobalt, but I don't seem to mind it given that it is a better driver than the Cobalt. And the lack of a temp gauge and a trip computer (with Fuel Economy Ratings, average speed, Oil life, etc) is also perplexing as the Cobalt LS had both, being as stripperiffic as it was (get your minds out of the gutters boys). I heard that the GT has it and all 2013 models will have this as standard equipment. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
Nonetheless, this is a fun to drive car. Looking forward to the next few years with this baby!!!! I'll end this off with two things:
- When you see a Toyota Camry, be careful, that was the car that totalled my Cobalt!!!
- HOWDY!!!
