I use it on my computer to output to my TV via HDMI.

It was actually for Xbox, then ported over to everything else.

The keys I use are "," and "." to go backwards/forwards 30 seconds. I use the play/pause button on my keyboard.

Try Raspberry Pi (~$50) with OpenElec installed. I haven't tried running this personally, but it's affordable and has a good community.

i looked it up but i don't think its for me. i find all sorts of boxes on mini pc boxes on kijiji but unsure if any of them are junk and won't work with xbmc nicely

I have it on my laptop. I had no idea what it was but a guy at my work put 2 terrabytes worth of TV shows and movies on my external hard drive and he added this program. I had always just clicked the movie and watched it on WMP but not anymore. Such an amazing program and easy to use. It does literally everything for you.

I've been using it for about 6 months now on the pivos unit and no problems with it. You just need to read up on all the add-ons and see which one are better for your use.

the pivos xios?

I'll probably end up going with that, on my macbook i use 1channel, sports devil and mashup add-ons, those 3 addons appear to cover everything i need.

the l love k1m05's and maxpower's streams

Correct the pivos xios M3 but I would recommend saving your user data to the SD card as the internal memory is only 1GB and that will fill up fast I have a 8GB SD card and it seems to be working really well.

Also with XBMC you can save TV shows from 1channel directly into you TV show library and stream them right from there and it updates automatically when new TV shows are added so you never need to go hunting for your missed shows.

Im still doing more testing but if it continues to work great I'll start looking at cutting back on my cable

cool thanks i know those sites, i'm not a complete stranger to xbmc, i use it everyday on my pc and mac. i just never had a android product before.

i was watching a review vid and the guy said to flash it to a native xbmc os or soemthing like that so that the software will run better and smoother

Yeah I would really recommend a native XBMC as the one that comes with the pivos sucks. I am running a linux build on my pivos right now and it runs like a champ

Same here, got this little box today and installed the linux build.... it runs just as good as my ATV2. Enabled AirPlay and use the xbmc remote app on my iphone to control it. Highly recommended, for simplicities sake follow the guide (http://www.xbmcandroid.com/2013/01/11/beginners-guide-to-installing-xbmc-linux-on-the-pivos-xios-ds/) to add the fusion address to your repo and then customize it with your favourite skin.

If you like what XBMC does, look up Plex Media Server.
