So any thoughts??????

I think people who bought iPad 3 6 months ago just got apple ****ed lol myself included.

I also think $329 for smaller outdated iPad 2 is a huge rip off as well!

I like the concept - not gonna lie, I'll probably end up buying it because I've never owned an ipad before. I just think they could've been a little more lenient with the pricing...$299 would have been comfortable and definitely more competitive. $329 is "this is an apple product" pricing

Sounds like you're new to Apple haha. Seems like the norm to me :P

Now I don't know whether to get a Mini or a 4 :(

When is the 4 scheduled to drop?

Who cares. My iPad V3 is great. I could care less about the iPad V4. Apple used to do bump upgrades all the time to their computers years ago. Seems like they are starting to apply them to their mobile/tablets as well. I'm sure they will still make a boat load of $$$.

I was more interested in the iMacs which look good but some of the changes are disappointing.

I was thinking maybe retina for imac.

But I'm most dissappointed in the iPad mini pricing, if your going after Google or Nexus tablets that are priced at $199 I don't think there is enough there to warrant another $130.

I'm sure Apple will be putting it "on sale" for $299 quite often once they realize the market for cheaper alternatives is rather plentiful.

Again I could care less about the retina. It would make the resolution stupidly huge on the 27". They already look mint anyway. I'm pissed because it looks as though you can't upgrade the RAM yourself, though I don't have any confirmation of this.

There was no point in going smaller because it's a desktop. The current ones already run too hot and now crappier video cards will be used.

The pricing won't change. Apple is Apple. They will stick to their guns and after all, it is an "iPad". lol

Why not get a Nexus 7 instead? The Android OS is much more powerful than the iOS.

This thread is timely. I am looking for a smaller less expensive ipad or an android tablet maybe the Nexus 7.

Totally biased opinion - get the Nexus 7.

Wait for Google's announcement on Monday. Maybe we'll see a Nexus 7S :chuckle

The new iMac design looks impressive. I wouldn't buy one though.

What interests me is the new Fusion Drives. Interesting concept. Similiar to the Seagate's Momentus® XT solid state hybrid drives but with a bigger cache.

Yeah they aren't actually new. Same technology really. Question is, do we trust them? lol

My brother has been running the Seagate Momentus drive in one of his Mac Pro's with no issues. Since the Fusion Dive is new for Apple, I'd hold off before I was to purchase one.

This happens every time a new product is released lol.

Android/Apple users should just learn to agree to disagree. Let's face it - Apple products are designed for a particular target audience, as are all Android products. It's not for everyone!

One caters to those wanting simplicity, and the other to those who want to manipulate their phone and get a little more out of it.

Both great platforms, but just playing devil's advocate here..:.02

I would never buy a tablet that's not apple....call me what you want, but thes products are amazing, I'm not one to customize my electronics....so overpaying for an item that 'just works' is justifiable in my eyes. For $130 to get an item with more apps, the most reliability and an additional year warranty that covers all water/drop/accidental physical damage....I'm sold

I think any other tablet is a waste. The iPad mini is nice, I feel it's very versatile and has all the perks of an iPad but with half the space it'll take up. My sister carries her V3 in her purse, insure she'll be pissed to see this, and the convenience of it being a mini.

Wow talk about overgeneralization...Iphone 5 amazing? Hardly... its a piece of garbage. Maps and other issues aside, my gf ordered about 20 of these for managers at her office (upgrading from 4s) and now they're all dropping calls and some of them don't even get any signal at their desks (in the city). 2 of them can't keep the thing charged for more than half a day and constantly need to carry their charger around.

Also, dropping calls was an issue on the original iphones too if i remember correctly.

Now i know you said tablet, not phone, but its all coming from the same company. And geeze man, the tablets weren't that amazing either. I was blown away when i found out the original one didn't have flash, it suddenly made half of the web un-viewable. Without that, what good is it? USB input? Nope... standard connectors? Nope... Hell, you couldn't connect anything to it.

Why do you need USB when you have icloud to wirelessly transfer al you documents/pics/videos/songs with no effort? The 4s had awful battery life at the beginning too, and with my bro/mom/dad all with I phones and me with a BB there are dropped calls b/w us all the time in the beginning, they send out an update and all is well. Now my dad calls us from Thunder Bay and we have crystal clear conversations.

I'll be honest man, I don't have a single problem with my apple products, iCloud is sensational, my Mac has performed flawlessly for 3 years, my iPad has enlightened my life the last 8 weeks I've had it...I love these products. I don't have a single reason to not promote them.

My brother who is similar in passion for apple products was mad about the poor battery life, and dropped calls when he first got the 4S but now that its Ll resolved, he wouldn't look back, and swears he'll never get anything that's not an iPhone.

To each their own. That's my perspective.

Why do you need USB when you have icloud to wirelessly transfer al you documents/pics/videos/songs with no effort? Well i'll give you an example from last week. Brought my gf's Asus Transformer on a trip thru the rockies and I ran out of storage space on my SLR which only takes compact flash. I plugged a spare SD card into the transformer, and was able to copy all the files from the CF to the SD via the tablet so I could take more pictures. For me having more options is always better than having less, makes you more flexible and allows it to go from being something that is just 'for fun' to something that is truly useful.

Lets be honest... would you buy a laptop without a usb port? Hell no.

To each their own. That's my perspective. Fair enough :)

Leave it to Apple to release a 7" tablet that falls short of the competition in terms of specifications but costs an average of $70 more.

While it's true that Apple has more apps, Android isn't that far behind anymore: the latest counts I saw were 675k for Android and 700k for Apple. At the end of the day, do you need all 700 000 apps? Unlikely. Sadly, the lack of expansion capability of Apple devices means that you couldn't install all 700 000 apps even if you wanted to. Figure out which apps you want and need, and then decide which platform is suitable - more isn't always better.

Moral of the story: there is way more to be considered when purchasing a tablet besides the manufacturer's name and the size of their app store :)

Well said and couldn't agree more.

And fall short you said? Have no fear, they'll probably release a Mini S in 6 months that they'll say it'll "change everything again".
