View Full Version : How is everybody preparing for Hurricane Sandy?

Latest reports indicate that the storm may still pack a wallop when it hits Ontario. Ottawa is supposed to get a direct hit while the GTA gets quite a bit of rain and wind, and by some reports, SNOW!!! (eek).
May need to move the barbeque inside the house, it is sitting on the balcony just outside the kitchen.....
In other news, Halloween 2012 is officially cancelled......

GTA is too warm to have snow....usually it hits the Niagara area or Barrie first even there is snow.
my CAI is there all year long.
Apparently once it hits, the GTA isn't gonna get tooooo much rain, more wind. Winds of up to 100 km/h expected.

Preparing for work. Every major power outrage we get rushed with work ( emergency glass service. )
Also my house is wired for a generator so were pulling that out of the shed.
Otherwise. I highly doubt this is going to be as big here as media is making it seem.
I don't believe anything is guna happen here like they are saying. I am going to continue on with my day as normal as this will not effect me. These people on the news are worried that there is going to be winds and rain mixed with snow? have they seen what the east coast is going through, very minimal compared to them. I think people over here in this are may be over reacting to all this just a tad imo
Hoping I don't drive through a puddle in the next week. Cross your fingers.

Agreed; but that is what they do :P
best story ive seen so far on tv was from man in toronto who has boarded up his windows, stalked up on extra food and has bought two generators. He says he is preparing for 3-5 days with no power. That is just ridiculous

Women and children are already safely indoors, 9 floors up so no flooding concerns. The worst part is the dog can't get as much exercise outside since he gets SOAKED (don't have time to bathe him every day) but then he sulks and doesn't want to eat. First world problems mang.

You know what's awesome about this? The statue faces south-east, which is the direction in which the storm is currently located. That photo shows a storm north-west of the statue, a situation which won't occur for at least another 24hrs. Plus that boat and all the people on the island wouldn't be there under such strict evacuation orders.
Oh last item: Sandy would be much bigger than that, in general hurricanes are so large that in most photos they are just a mess of rain.
THAT'S A PHOTOSHOP. I KNOW, I RECOGNIZE TEH PIXELS.
