November 5th is before Christmas
Cluttering the FS threads will not be tolerated. That goes for all threads.
this is a bit hot and heavy for a WTB and FS thread.. whats the point in posting what you want to buy if its going to be considered clutter... loki you look like your trying to prove a point but your way about this seems to make no sense.. this is hardly considered clutter when looking to buy and there being such a short window before parts are sold..
maybe you should go troll for reposted concerns that there is a ton of and merge those together to help "remove clutter"
but thats not your job to do so. anyway....just my :.02 WHY CANT WE ALL JUST BE FRIENDS!?!?

+1 ...people shouldn't have to feel intimidated when posting something on this forum. I see this happening on more than one thread and it's kind of turning me off from this idea of having a TM3 community.
feel free to continue this discussion here, so that I can clean up speed77's thread without you thinking I'm just deleting your posts.
The idea is not to intimidate, its to simply keep the classifieds clean. I'm not targetting particular individuals.

Allow me to chime in.
I have tried to clarify loki's position via a Pm to booter22 & khemikalz. I will try and summarize here as well.
The classifieds section is not a discussion section. It is simply for members who want to sell items, or buy items.
With regard to Khemikalz postings. My recommendation to him, as I have suggested to other members is to pm the members that have the item you want listed for sale. If in 1-2 days, you receive no response, then post in the thread. That a)reminds the seller again that someone is interested b)helps the moderators, as we can monitor and if we see no updates, can lock the thread.
We try to keep TM3 friendly, but the classifieds section has become an unwieldy mess because the moderators/admins have had our hands full with other sections. We have lots of places on the board for discussion, asking questions etc.
The classifieds are brutal for people replying to FS threads with comments like "if you still have these rims in 6 months, I will be interested" or "if those rims were 19" instead of 18" and were phantom orange with black and purple, I would buy them".
If you want to buy something PM the poster. If you have a specific question regarding fitment/compatibility etc,then sure post in the thread.
We have refined the rules for the classifieds over the years, and now several other sites, have actually adopted our standards. Two specific highlights
"6) Bumps/TTTs (to the top) will be allowed once per day only by the seller. No third party bumping allowed. Only post if you are directly interested in the item up for sale/trade.
7) Thread crapping and Thread hi-jacking are heavily frowned upon and will be dealt with accordingly. Any offers other than asking price should be sent by PM."

i was also unaware until loki informed me that the OP had 4-5 other similar threads. if i had known that first i may have had a slightly different tune as well.

What has everybody got soft over the last couple of months? Grow a pair.
If you don't meet the rules, which are stated clearly in black and white, then the thread is deleted or appropriate action is taken. Loki is actually taking over a section which hasn't had a lot of monitoring. If he seems a little harsh, good. It's mostly because there hasn't been any reprimanding for some of the stuff posted there.
It's hard to teach people the proper way of doing something when it's quite simple and they just don't give a ****. Let's all get a long by doing the right thing. :)
Why don't we create a WTB section and keep all of those in their own place. That way it will remove a lot of the clutter. Just a thought.

+1 I think that would keep everyone happy and allow people who are trying to work the purchase into their finances plan better.

People feel invincible over the internet... when people say grow a pair I think they should show some respect. I agree with the cleaning up and I know you have a tough job with all the stupid posts but sometimes the trolling contributes to the mess rather then helping people. I have mad love for the TM3 guys but sometimes people need to be bit more human and show some empathy.
Make some new sub forums, contribute and collaborate... do what we do best as Canadians. I hate the MSF because of all the goons there thinking they are kings of the world with the trolling/telling people off. We need to keep the community feel :)

A WTB section is a bad idea. I know some forums have them, but people selling rarely check the WTB section for someone who wants their goods. Ends up being one WTB post and then someone posts a link to an existing FS thread.

TM3 is nothing like MSF, nor is it close to becoming MSF
People feel invincible over the internet... when people say grow a pair I think they should show some respect. I agree with the cleaning up and I know you have a tough job with all the stupid posts but sometimes the trolling contributes to the mess rather then helping people. I have mad love for the TM3 guys but sometimes people need to be bit more human and show some empathy.

Personally, I'd have no problem if there's a bit more "monitoring" and intervention...like they do on MSF.
Guess what? All the pu...people... who can't hack it on MSF come to TM3 looking for help, asking the kinda questions that have been answered again and again, because they are too lazy to search and resort to openly asking for help on the same topic ad nauseam...we are not a refugee camp.
Nor is the internet your best friend. Nor are ppl here to serve the community. Ppl are here to enjoy the community they helped built and share technical knowledge specific to our car...not your college career or family problems.
If you seek sympathy and empathy from the internet, then yeah...grow a pair of nuts...or maybe look at why you're looking for sympathy and empathy from a bunch of strangers.
The meat of all that is offered in the MS3 section on TM3 was born out of MSF...those of you who are new to the platform can be forgiven for your ignorance of this fact. However, let's get it straight right here and now...TM3 is TM3, MSF is MSF...and having said that, let it be known that in part, TM3 is better for all the things our members have learned on MSF.
NATOR.TO is a part of a fraternity started on MSF. NATOR.TO members are some of the most active members on TM3, while contributing to the overall efforts of TM3 in every way possible. All the technical aspects of the MS3 platform are discussed and vetted with "those who know" on MSF.
Personal preference for which forum you participate in is just that...personal preference. But do not get it twisted and think that one forum is better than another because of one aspect of the forum you do not understand.
One aspect of MSF that we should adopt on TM3 is stricter control of certain threads...so they stay on topic, without off-tangent banter and "LOL's"...and these are mainly the MS3 and For Sale threads that should be better maintained.
why not just block ppl from posting in the FS section
just allow the OP to make the tread and let him do his bumps or edit
but block any one else from posting in that tread

I mean I always see ppl in the classifieds here and other places complaining about the price of everything. From products to events to private sales. Also hear about all the ridiculous low ball offers from ppl. lol ask phil hahaha
I guess I am not really surprised since the price of these cars keeps dropping so now their are an option for ppl who cant afford to spend more than 10k on a car.

Just wanted people to act a little more human rather then being kings of the world on the internet... we all know what it's like trying to find a small piece of information inside a huge pile of crap. People tell them to search the forums but not everyone can spend hours looking through all the posts... espeically with the titles people make. From my experiences in real life, if you piss on someone you better be able to accept the consequences of your actions. On the internet there are no consequences, so people do as they want and say as they want.
Sympathy and empathy from strangers is a lost cause for most people in today's society... seems like a lot of people became dicks because they aren't happy with their own lives so they take it out on others. And I am not talking about anyone in here because half the time its just random joke posts.
I grew a pair when I was in the womb but the only time I want to use them is when I wanna have a kid.
Mad love for this forum and the MSF, can't compare the two, it's like apples and oranges.

The reality is that your perspective is very typical of ppl who are only exposed to a certain part of the internet that they expect answers from ppl...for free. Like we're google or something. Along the same lines, the newbies, such as newer members like yourselves, should also treat TM3 as a community of humans...with respect. Coming on here, acting like ppl here owe you an answer, then spazzing out cuz we're not "human" enough to spoon feed you, accusing members as trolls or "better than you" is typical Noob behaviour that we have seen time and time again...
Fact of the matter is, and if anyone want to talk about human condition, is that nobody is out to look out for you in real life. You find your own answers that applies to you. Maybe the answer you're looking for is "yes or no", but you'll do better if you found out for yourself and the nuances behind a short answer and what's really best for yourself. On top of that, the realities of life is that not only are ppl not really out there looking out for you, some ppl may even have malicious intent and give you misinformation. And if you can wade through the bullshit and make some friends, then hey, maybe you're doing it right.
And there are a lot of consequences on the internet...just like in real life, or at a job. If you act like noob and act dumb at a job, you will get fired...on the Internet, you get flamed. Just because we're Canadians does not mean we have to be push-overs and let the noobs ruin the nice clean community we built with their ignorant graffiti.
Do ppl walk into libraries and scream for ppl to help them with something because they can't bother to look up a book? Or cuz the Dewey system is too complicated? Hmmmm....

Okay, I started a thread stating that I was looking for a header and a MS3 spoiler, I also posted on relevant FS threads stating that if available still I am interested, I see that the fact of me stating that I was looking to get it for myself for Christmas should of been left out as its not really relevant (I also should of pm'd 1st)..
I did not create more than one thread about this, and I was told that if I had no intentions of buying that my thread would be deleted. In my thread I clearly noted that I am looking to purchase from now to Christmas and the reasoning is that I feel that both parts that I am looking for come and go so fast, they seem pretty rare to me, as I didn't want to miss out on any upcoming possible parts that I'm hoping to acquire.
I want to apologize to Loki for thinking he was a douche trying to troll me, I see his intentions were in the right place, as he was instructed to clean up the classifieds.
I thought my thread was harmless, like when I posted one "looking for coils" and purchased that same week, Sorry tm3 for stirring this up (I know its not just me, but feel that I should apologize for my posts that weren't relevant)

Ya cus I knew I could get do it somewhere else for a better price. The original price ami told me was pretty high... but all that being said I am satisfied with the price that I got from him in the end

Stirring the pot is always good when done the right way :) keeps things "fresh" as Vince said lol... douching is the only way to clean some things up. Being able to discuss these types of issues is what will make help progress.
