Hey all,
I have this clicking noise+ sensation in steering wheel + brake pedal when I turn the wheel to the left at low speed. This started 2 days ago after I changed my winter tires at a shop.
Going straight, braking, right turn is pefectly fine.
When I took it back to the shop to show them. But when they tried doing the left turn, they were not able to reproduce this sound.
After a number of tries, when I get back to the driver seat to drive home, the clicking is gone...
I just got the Mazda 2012 in august... Could it be something serious that's going on?
Thanks in advance

Do you live close to the/a dealership? Could be nothing, but they'd be the people to show. I'm sure atkeast one person on here can help you though.

I called them, they're not sure if they'll charge me for inspection because I didn't do the tire change at the dealership

No way... That's retarded. Is there a second dealership close you could swing by and have them look at it? The warranty should cover anything like this

yeah I live real close to Mazda Toronto, they said give it 2 days and see if the clicking persist, they said it could be because new tires are settling in... not sure if that's true.

i think it might be the cv joint. theyre known to click when they start to wear out. im sure its covered under warranty

get a suspension check done at the dealer, they shouldn't charge u its just winter tires. fight them cause they can't be that stupid not to serve you over something stupid like tires! if it was brakes then thats a little different, but tires.. jeez!

that's what I see people say on other forum, but the car is only like 5500km 4 months old, is it common to wear out the cv joint that fast?

things can come defective from factory. im sure your fine since the noise is gone. but if it does come back harder than ever. you should be covered by warranty.

Yea it was gone on my drive back home from that shop, I will be driving it again today to see if it comes back.

Could be something as silly as a stone in your tread..
unless it returns.. don't worry about it.

clicking was like faint (like a clock ticking), sensation was noticeable (like someone flicked the pedal with their finger), especially at the brake pedal cause i normally wouldn't feel anything, so a slight click was very noticeable for me.
It's not like a continuous clicking when turning left, it's a specific arc that i turn past that elicit that click.

Does it make the noise when you go fully lock to the left? i get more like a 'thump' when i fully lock the wheel left or right

it's not fully locked, it's like when i turn the wheel 360, then it clicks, i just had a drive. the clicking is gone, I am not sure if it's the weather or what...

sounds like when the put the snows on there was a bit of dirt between the hub and the rim or lug nuts and it turned to dust and the noise went away. same thing happend on my parents ford when i put there snows on. noise went away under 1 km. havent heart it since. if you dont hear it again your ok. if you do, make sure all the wheels are torqued and if they are drop by the dealer and have them check
