This might be a very stupid question and you may all laugh at me, but thats fine I am okay with that. hahha

Who comes to these meets? I obviously know its people that drive mazdas, but does your mazda have to be modified? What does everyone talk about? CARS obviously but what if someone like me (a girl) who doesn't know very much about cars but loves her 2011 mazda3 GS and would love to meet some cool new people who obviously have a great taste in cars fit in? Do girls come to these things?? Would I be out of place??

All sorts of people come. Some cars that are completely stock come, some that are heavily modded. People just want to hang out/chat with people that share a similar interest/passion. Perhaps get ideas for future mods.

I have only been to a few meets, but I find everybody always super nice and helpful with my future mod questions

and it a whole bunch of different demographics, don't worry about it, you will have fun

and my car is very lightly modded compared to the rest

Meets are great in a sense you get to meet the person you speak to in the forum and put a face to a screen name. With a ton of modified vehicles already in this forum it's nice to see what others have done and can give you an idea of where you would like to take your 3 if you plan to mod. It's also a nice way to build rapport with other members and build connections on where to get parts or help on with installation if your not mechanically inclined. Most are willing to help out other members with their mods.

As for conversation it's not just car talk with everyone from different place car talk can turn into small talk about jobs and what not. Me being fairly new myself to the Mazda scene have observed most members on here have known each other for quite sometime and have become close friends. Coming from 8 years from the Hyundai scene I've made some life long friends over there-hell one member even made me the god father of his first son. This community seems friendly enough and very tight knit. In short if you can attend a meet do it

I felt weird about bringing my stock car to the Tuesday wing night meet a few weeks back. .but it was OK...everyone is friendly and can offer advice on modding... deffinately a whole lot of diversity too....although I felt really young compared to the other members xD

Us people on the west need more meets like the east at places to eat inside during the winter and that. Seems the east side has many and get to know each other personally quicker/easier. Don't get me wrong I know many of the west guys are great friends and that it would just be nice to meet people more :) But I am bad at setting up meets before people say I just should make some xD

Meets are a great way to get to meet some cool strangers. Not necessarily constrained to car-related talk, it's just a chance to get together and talk about whatever you feel inclined to talk about. I guess I'm still relatively new to meets as well, but from the few months of coming out to some whenever I can, I'm starting to get familiar with a bunch of people and it's great. Always good putting a face/personality to a forum members picture of their car :P

Definitely agree we need some more west-end ones though!

This is so true.. this year was my first and I had rough start, posting things in the wrong area and such, but this group is a great bunch of people and there are girls here too. But be warned imo meets are highly addictive to newbies (I still consider myself one too so no offence) and once you attend one you'll wonder why you were even nervous.. in fact you might just skip that feeling and want to know when's the next meet.. hell I still harass people in my area for meets, I love em!!

Ps always try the search bar before asking a question, just in case it was asked before, there could be a existing thread made.

JonJon's Tapenyaki meet only has 4 people so far. Though its not an official car meet it's a good way to meet members and enjoy good food.

I work until 5pm and I live in the north west end of Mississauga basically bordering Milton (Winston Churchill/Aquataine/ Battleford area). Perhaps if it was on a weekend I would treck it down there but definately not on a weekday.

You work till 5 and you cant make it there for 7? 2 hours later? Just go straight there! Besides there are almost NO meets on the weekends ever, weekends are ppls own time and we often dont have meets then. Plenty of ppl come straight from work.

We are casual, we just hang out, have some eats and some laughs.

I got to LOTS of meets, I first starting going to meets by myself back in 08 with a stock car. I didnt care, I just wanted to meet some ppl and get out there. And I have met so many amazing people here that are now good friends!

The west and east dont end up meeting much unless it's a larger event. i.e first of the year, charity event, car show, meet of the mazdas, tm3 bubbaQ, etc.

There are lots of meets all summer, but many ppl dont go to them... for some reason. Mostly cus ppl always make excuses. It's ALWAYS the same ppl who come out to meets lol

Foxy has a point there. Two hours is more than enough time to make it out. Plus the reservation is for 7 but once we have a number of attendees a spot will be saved for you. I could see us at least being there for about 3 hours or so anyways.

I'm still going even though I finish work at 11am that day and start back at 11pm. I'm still fairly new and want to make it out to as much meets as I can and meet people
