hey my 04 3 gt is scrapping in the back especially when there is a lot of weight and i go over a bump, the fenders are stock so are the rims and tires and well basically everything. Does this mean i need to get new shocks? i wanted to lower my car anyway no atm, but should i save up for like coilovers or buy new shocks right now?

sounds like you need some shocks.

Probably shocks. Also check for broken springs too.

racelands are the cheapest , theyre like $400 (i think)
but from what ive heard they;re junk..crappy handling, really rough, break easy, etc.
next up would be yonaka's , which are about $600-$700
ive heard good and bad things , so i guess thats up to you
me, personally, im getting BC's , they are around $800-$1000
ive heard nothing but good from them :)
you get what you pay for..
you can also just get springs ? but i dont believe they have as low of a drop as coils (as they are adjustable)
Just remember if you do go with just springs to replace the struts as well. As the above poster said decent coil over kits are up in the thousands but you're gettin quality parts. Good luck

u need to start learning how to drive in the low life, sharp angles for every little bump = minimum scrapes

+1.
Frankly you'll learn quickly.
I will say if you haven't driven lowered many people here say get springs ( and shocks in your case). Coils are a pretty rough ride BUT I enjoy mine. People complain but ask me if I care.
For the record I have "cheap" coils. V-Maxx.

Spending money on a higher end setup like KWs will get you a better ride.

In your case your at least gonna want springs and shocks which for a decent setup is about a grand. For just a touch more you can get a good set of coils.

I love how every here thing BC coils are amazing, and spending $1000 on suspension is sooooo much..... BC's are still entry level coilovers.

If you plan on lowering your car, buy either a good set of coilovers, or lowering springs and shocks.... and install it in 1 shot.
There's no point in buying new shocks now, and then paying another labour charge to install lowering springs.
For myself, I went with Tein H-tech spring and KYB shocks and loved the set up.
If you do a search, you'll see what other's have used for suspension........ but my advice to you in terms of your initial question is to do the install in 1 shot and save on labour.

+1 if you buy new shocks and struts with springs or a coilover kit, spend the money and put your rims and exhaust on hold for a later date. Personally I have had the BC coilovers they were ok while I had them but I decided to upgrade to something better
