I think it may be worth the extra $ if you ever want to add the Bluetooth remote/viewing capabilities. Check how much extra the backpack is. Kinda regretting my Hero 2s. Can't add screen and remote, it's one or the other.

We went to BestBuy in Burlington @ 7:45am and the line was not to bad, we went and picked up a Christmas present.

-Ipad4 ($454, save $40)

-$50 Itunes card (save $11)

We were in and out in 15mins, someone came up to the cash and said they had already put $10,000 worth of stock through the doors in under 20mins.

Well worth getting up a bit early to save $50 + tax.

I grabbed a wireless mouse for my mom and a new set of rechargeable battery packs for the 360 controllers.

Ended up picking up the Galaxy S3 for my wife. It's a pretty good deal, only had to pay the early upgrade fee (had about 9 months left on her contract) but phone was free and got a $100 BB gift card. Worst part was struggling through the upgrade process as both BB and Telus' systems were slowwwwwww.

I remove almost as many of these as we install because of faulty parts and no service parts are available.

Recently DEI took over ProStart but I'm not sure if they have done much beside reboxing them.

I'm not saying buy from us over Canadian Tire but see what other deals are out there before out go to Canadian Tire for their electronics.

And just to show that you can get a compustar for near the same price unless its manual. Then do your research on that particular ProStart

i upgraded last month and had over a year left on my contract, but got it waived...
Just get on the line with retentions and they will get rid of it easily

I can speak for them since DEI Viper has taken over but the remotes lose programming and the brain unit ceases to work after a year or so in a lot of cases.

Neither of these are major issues but you can not get service parts for them and most people but the units that are on sale. Those are generally clear out units which generally means that that will be the last year for that model.

Now that DEI (Viper) owns them, they may change and they may use the same connections that are used on another DEI product so when the brain dies, you can swap in something better and not have to pay for the labour. You'll just have to buy an entire new unit.

To compare that to a compustar, which has a life time warranty on everything except for the remotes which because of the abuse, is only one year with no physical damage. (Scratches etc are ok but if you break the screen on a two way or snap the antenna off, no warranty but if you abuse it and there's no damage to the exterior, you can usually get it covered by the shop you purchased from in the warranty window)

So many people return the units also after they figure out how much install will cost or after they have tried they return it and new wires go in the box and the unit hits the shelf again. Then that same unit that someone fried, is being installed and is defective. Then you gotta return it, bring it back to the installer, pay a it more and have it completed just so it can die on you next year.
Don't take this as a sales pitch for us but I don't like seeing people throw their money away.
Most of us work hard for our money and their are affordable options that are better.

I used to have one in my winter beater years ago and it worked fine.... Never had issue.. My dad had one in his old truck too with no issues.

They do look good and could grab one if I wanted but why pay that much for a TV now with such a limited selection of 4K blu rays, channels and zero games that take advantage of it. Its not a question of how good the quality of the picture is, just what you can get at the present time.

Do you own a smart phone...ok dumb question. I have the Hero 2 and downloaded the Gopro app to my phone and I blutooth it. I can view real time through my gopro via the app on my iphone.
