Hey guys,
So out of the blue my car brakes are not working as well as before. The pedal is softer and can be pushed all the way down. I can still brake somewhat but it takes a little more time to stop the car now. This all happened out of a sudden. The brakes were perfect in the morning, but they just weren't right in the afternoon.
Anyway, I took it to Kieswetter in Kitchener. They inspected the brakes and decided that the car needs a new Master cylinder. They quoted me $300 for the part + $340 for their time + tax! Besides the costly quote I am still not fully convinced that a new cylinder is needed. Hell they didn't seem confident themselves! And wouldn't you just hate it to pay this much for a part only to later discover it wasn't the problem? :) Not saying that they are wrong, but I would like a second opinion.
Any recommendations for a good and inexpensive mechanic in the Kitchener area?
Thanks guys!
