Try Grand Prix Kartways in North York. Been there a few times, their site is pretty good but the track is kinda easy. You can get around the corners without using the brakes. :chuckle

401 mini indy doesnt have the fastest karts, the best track or the friendliest atmosphere, but you just cant beat the value of their $29.99 unlimited laps on Wednesday night. soooooo much fun.
I'm interested in getting into some higher end kart racing if anyone else comes forward with some suggestions

Thanks guys! Grand Prix Kartways looks good since it's closest to the office. This will be for our office Christmas Holiday team building. Which one do you guys think is better? 401 Mini Indy or Grand Prix Kartways?

ive been to both, i like gpk better
gpk track is a bit better i think, better system, have a bar area to wait and relax and they call your names out... but a bit more expensive.
401 mini indy bumpyaf track line up is budget cause you end up standing on a bridge for 40 mins on wed nights,... but cheaper..
i say gpk, nice printed out sheets with lap times and names!

+1 for Grand Prix Kartways, its actually near Downsview
I wouldn't say you could get around without braking but its a fair track.. seems that some cars are slightly faster than others though which makes some race results more about which cart you got into rather than skill.. otherwise good fun!

+1 for GPK
The building looks pretty sketchy from the outside but when u go in its a big improvement. I'm going there tomorrow actually with some school people lol.

Go to GPK over 401 Indy. The track might be better at 401 and the karts may be a tad faster but if you get hit there isn't much protection on the side of the karts compared to GPK's and GPK uses electric karts so the doors are closed = warmer and no fumes.

GPK > 401. If I'd known about GPK's league before it started, I would've joined.

Agreed but they have control over the speeds of the karts and I believe on non league days they play with them to make it interesting...but I could be wrong. I do know that they can control remotely the speeds of the karts.

Yeah, if you're scared, you wouldn't be able to. Plus there's this thing called engine braking, even with these karts. Just do, slow in, fast out and you're set. :)
But yeah, track's fun. Plus, there's waiting areas with stuff to do so you don't get bored.

last week we got 90 (6 x 15 lap races) laps in at 401 in less than 3hrs....dont listen to anyone who says you wait 40 minutes between races. maybe on super, exceptionally busy nights, but most times its like 10-15 minutes. 90 laps is just about my limit....my arms, neck, back & legs were like jello the next day lol. you get sooo into it :D

GPK is much nicer inside if it's for a work event and they have a kitchen and bar I think. As mentioned the GPK karts are electric so much nicer without the fumes. If you are going on a weekday during the day then it shouldn't be busy.

I remember Kart 1 being wicked fast but drifty.
I've been to GPK quite a few times, I always have this one friend who can't stand being beaten by me because I outweigh him by 30 pounds (He's not that good of a driver).
I'd definitely pick GPK over 401.
