Hey everyone! Found these forums a few weeks ago while researching up for my first car purchase. The Mazda3 hatch tickled my pickle a bit and these forums helped me settle on getting one after seeing everyone elses ride and what they can do/have done.
Long story short, I'm literally going to put the money in the guy's hands tomorrow afternoon so I figured I'd jump the gun and post up today!
It's my first car I'm actually paying for in full by myself, but I've owned a '96 Yukon in the past that I got off family, but that thing guzzled gas like a whale could water.
'05 Black Hatchback. Pics tomorrow when I bring her home!

Thanks for all the welcomes! But I have bad news...
Took the car to a friend's shop who took a look under and said the body was rotting way too much to be worth the asking price (5.5k). He said everything was great except the body. He stressed that even though it's horrible, it's one of the better '05s that he has seen since they all have the rust rotting issues I've read so much about.
Question for you guys:
Am I just going to have to suck it up and put more down for a newer model, or is there hope that I can find something for around the 6k range? Am I just being too cheap to own a decent MZ3 Hatch? My dreams are already half-crushed so don't be soft on me :(

i bought a 07 gt sport hatch for 10 grand with 112k
its rust proofed
brah its darn sad you got a bad one, i drive around 8 hours a day and i observe every mazda i see... rust isnt a issue for the vast majority....even old Protoge's show lil rust ...you can i suppose end up with a rusty mazda but there has to be a reason....north ontario car maybe?

if you're patient and look really hard, you can find one in good shape and relatively low mileage just over 6k, but you have to be vigilient. I went to see my car the day the posting was up, and it was basically sold that night. Just find the right car and the right deal

Hope you find a good one!! I bought my '07 hatch for 10,900+tax last year.. absolutely no rust.
Good luck with your search and we hope to see you at the meets ;)
