my 2011 GS no mods 32K, has been rattling and bouncing over the slightest of bumps, potholes for the last couple of months, changed over the 16" alloys to winters on steelies to see if any difference, but it continues to be the same. The rattle is thru the cabin like running on over inflated the tires. But have checked PSI several times over anywhere from 32-25psi makes no difference to the bounce. Terrible discomfort when driving on downtown roads but car drives fine on highway speeds no vibration , but will stilll make a thunk sound and bounce when going over potholes on the 401/404.

bouncy car means bad suspension.

well if the shocks are put through hell for those 30k then it's possible.

potholes and really rough roads are terrible for suspension.

My rear ones were leaking at 35K and got them replaced under warranty.

Just fixed an appoinment with MOT to sort this out, apparently if manufacturer defect then it is covered by warrany. Fingers crossed it is !!! no charge for inspection

This^^

The mazda 3 has not much shock travel to begin with, factor in 4 people in thw car+ cargo+toronto potholes= blown
Shocks

99% of time shocks are not warranted, they are a wear item,
You could drive off the lot with 6kms and blow them and they are not covered.

Fwiw, shocks are only really good and new for 50-60k in my experience.

It's covered by 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Once that's done, you're on your own.

EDIT: I didn't know until Jimmy told me about it during an oil change.

Look under "what is NOT covered"

http://www.mazda.ca/MciWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=partsWarrantyFact oryWarrantyWarrantyCoverage

Lol and the MAP says shocks are not covered as well..they are a WEAR ITEM like brakes are.

If you find a dealer that will replace blown shocks under warranty @ 35k let us know!

EDIT: street performance is NOT a mazda dealer ;)

I went to MoT for warranty replacement.

EDIT: Where does it say it's not covered?

Just going thru some TSB's online the differentiation is oil leakage (not covered) and oil seepage (maybe covered) since the TSB doesnt mention anything about warranty but requests dealer to replace.

I guess it's up to the dealership? A coworker has gotten warped rotors replaced under warranty at Avante.
