This is true. I do remember leaving the Hilton downtown at 5:30 on a friday, got back 4 hours later. Its just nuts in Toronto. You have to be an aggressive driver or gtfo kinda deal. Its why I like living where I do. But I do have family out near the beaches, and off Avenue road. And you definitely should. By then I might have the stereo exactly where I want it haha.

One day at lunch I did a terrible parking job. In my Miata of course. I have no idea how I got it so dang crooked. Musta been because I was so hungry. Anywho...going against my good conscience I left it. No cars beside me. Turned out to be a good hoot. This giant Jeep parked right beside me. Crooked as hell too. Noticed them checking it out in the restaurant. I commented. We had a good laugh together.

On a regular basis, I am overly concerned about good parking. Getting it straight and parking beside other Mazda owners where I can. They must care about their cars as much as I do. No dings for me. None for you.

I think my post belongs more in the Bad Drivers thread, but... as I just got caught up.. yeah anyway... Since this is a parking story, might as well post it here.

Arrived to Fairview Mall on Black Friday. Found a regular parking spot. Parked. Did stuff and was leaving. I am signalling to reverse out to the left, but as I inched backwards, I saw a car pull up and signal to take my spot. I have no problem with that, except that the person was very eager and gave me absolutely no space to reverse to the left... Considering I was signalling, it should have been pretty obvious which way I wanted to go? Well, no matter - it's a busy day, and I can reverse the other way just as well.

I flip the signal to the right and continue reversing. As I do so, I can see the other car inch forward until the point where I can't make the turn without my front hitting their car. I roll down my window, preparing for a "What the heck?" gesture, but then decided to just asdf-turn (aka 1000 point turn) my way around them. I am nice like that... So now I am out of the spot... Head to head with the other car. I am not nice enough to reverse my way around the entire darn parking lot, so I do my "wtf" gesture and the person looks at me wide eyed like they have no idea what in the world is going on. After about 5 seconds of me just staring at them, they finally reverse back slightly and pulled around me.

As they passed me, I saw it was what looked like a mother and a daughter, so I did feel a pinch of guilt, but not enough to prevent me from posting this, heh...

There's a Tims drive thru at the Esso by my house. Argentia and Winston Churchill. It's the best. The coffee is consistently good, my order is always right and the ladies are nice.

The thing about this drive thru is the placement. It used to say no U turns on the pavement but it's worn off. I once saw some lady back into an RX8 one morning because she was trying to get into the drive thru. The turn is too tight for most to maneuver.

Happens all the time. Once someone blantaly did it to me and I knocked on their window. Told them what they did was a no no. Another time a lady did it, but she clearly had no idea about the system and paid for my breakfast. That was nice.

What morons.. but sometimes, its better just to chillax and let it be. An example is the following story that relates to parking.

I was off site at another office and I waiting to back in to a spot (signaled, reverse lights) this guy just dives in. When I parked further (and this spot was far already, it was just there's NO spots there), the guy is like "Got a problem? No? Keep walking, keep walking" when he saw me after I parked and walked by. Not being stereotypical at all, but this was a union rep office for labour workers and a lot of these guys are more physical and sometimes rougher which comes with the occupation normally (outside conditions, heavy work what have you). My general dealings with them have always been pleasant... I even had a guy stop me in my WRX and he said he just go tone. But this guy.. used his "status" to intimidate it seems.

Yes, I'm sure you have seen cross hatched areas near light posts, but I specifically identified that I was talking about cross hatched zones at the end of traffic lanes where curbs aren't used. Parking lots are private property and the designers of them could place pictures of kittens riding unicorns all over the pavement if they felt like it.

I'm sure you've also seen parking lots with spots right up to traffic flow lanes, again, this is private property and they are under no obligation to put in these zones (to my knowledge, parking lot zoning is not my area of expertise). But the reason for their existence is the same nonetheless. They allow drivers to nose out to get a view of oncoming vehicles without actually putting the nose of their car into traffic.

Stickers are just that... Stickers. They do not authorize you to park in handicapped spots.

A handicapped parking permit displayed on the dashboard of the car is required to use a designated handicapped spot.

i8 guy parked far away to avoid door dings ( i showed up the same time and the lot was empty at the time)... but then this assface decides to illegally park beside him.



This happens every friday at the mosque... sometimes these idiots park in cross hatched areas that are clearly not big enough for cars. then they think they are doing a good service by parking milimeters away from the next car so that they can block the main roadway slightly less.... but still end up blocking the roadway completely.

I saw her pull in too and get out of the car... didnt give a crap about her blatantly horrible parking job. Her car was also full of plenty of dents/scrapes on the passenger side which makes me think she parked there because she sucks at parking. I swear no where is safe from these kind of idiots no matter where you park.

I have been driving a 2005 Ford Expedition around this weekend, and there is NO WAY I was able to park in spots all weekend. So I was definitely worth of this thread, but nothing like that VW in asyed 's post
