Do people not care anymore? TERRIBLE PARKING!

Okay, people not knowing how to park and or being complete inconsiderate jerks is getting out of hand. Everyday I'm noticing more and more people parking diagonally, over two spaces, etc and just doing terrible jobs parking their cars. One time I was waiting in line outside the front of a store and this lady pulls up in her SUV and parks over two spaces, seriously, we all just saw you do that. She then nonchalantly joined the line with the rest of us.
Many times I have come up to a free parking space and see one of the cars beside the space is parked really close or crooked and I just decide not to park there and find another space. I was out for 20 mins waiting for my mom in the parking lot and I noticed all this crap (see pictures below). It was the same story at Toys R Us last week and my gf wanted me to park closer because it was cold.
If this non sense keeps up it every parking lot will be like this as more and more people will park like inconsiderate jerks.

I know many of you will say "that's why I park at the end of the lot", but you have to admit this is ridiculous. I don't even want to imagine what shopping malls are like especially at this time of the year.

I understand your frustration. Same thing happens here all the time. Sometimes I think it boils down to a lack of driving skills to park rather than pure inconsiderateness. I've seen people adjust their cars several times only to leave it how it was the first time. Oh well....

I know this plaza @ bathurst/steeles lmao used to work in the food basics which closed like a year ago. I used to park at the wayyyy back of this parking lot cuz i have seen lots of idiots parking and driving in that plaza. I must mention that this area has lots of seniors shopping in the grocery store during the day so im not surprised some of them can't park properly.

The corolla and grand am are definitely the straightest. That buick and solara on the other hand definitely crossing over into the other spaces hahah Ends up being a trickle effect and everyone has to park that way if one person royally screws up.

although that is ridiculously off. at least they did it off on an empty zone. when i park at these spots, i try to park with my tires in the line (both 2 tires). that way the people on the other side will have enough room for whatever.

lol, it does seem that way. I like to try and look at situations from both sides, makes me feel better about myself. In retrospect, I was overly generous to that second one.

That said, I had a moment tonight when I almost had my faith restored in Corolla drivers. He backed in to a spot in front of me and to the right; almost bang on first try. Pulls forward to correct it, somehow contorts his car to be as crooked as possible. Gets out, looks straight at me in my car, walks away.

Ohhh.. This thread is getting me wound up. I used to be a parking vigilante with my old beater. Heaven forbid you parked over the line on your drivers side. I'd pull my car up within inches of your door. Still within my lines, but youd be crawling through the passenger side for sure.

Ohhh.. This thread is getting me wound up. I used to be a parking vigilante with my old beater. Heaven forbid you parked over the line on your drivers side. I'd pull my car up within inches of your door. Still within my lines, but youd be crawling through the passenger side for sure.

Now with the new 3, I'm a more mature, less passive aggressive parker. Plenty of spots on the upper floors of parking garages.

At times I wish I had a beater. I'd do the same thing.

100% agree. Car has to be clean to have a cover on it. The cover may rub the dirt and then scratch the paint. It would be like rubbing your car with a towel when it is dirty.

He gets it bad too. Staff have designated spots along warden and the. Have to walk a slight distance to get to the employee entrance. But because he's "up there" in senority and claims to be making muliple runs off site he's allowed to park directly in front of staff parking. The amount of people the bitch and complain about the short distance he has to walk I the cold weather. The politics and shit that goes on in this place would make for an awesome reality show

there's a lot of guys at my office with full sized pick-ups, they all park in far end of the lot where no one else parks and walk it.
they all park between the lines, but lengthwise take up a spot and a half.
at least they have enough sense to park separately and not squeeze themselves in with the rest of the cars closer to the building.

Shamefully, I accidently did this once at night. Two larger vehicles were parked in the accessibility parking spots and the parking lot paint was well worn. Both vehicles had parked just far enough away that it appeared like a perfect spot (so close to the door!). I did realize my idiocy when I got out of the car and quickly moved it to a proper parking spot before anyone noticed (I hope!)

Coincidentally, I'm from Brampton too :)

Yes true, but still.... I had to collapse his mirror so I wouldn't nick it on my way out. I was debating going back out and un-collapsing it to be nice but just noticed someone else has already taken my spot so I just left it lol.

Had someone do that to my driver door once. I had to crawl in through the passenger seat ( with a busted knee)

Whoever it was came out to some decent damages due to me smashing my door against theirs. Yes I hit their door on purpose. When I could only open my DRIVER door 6-8" they deserved it. if i did that to someone else, I would expect the same treatment.

because not only was his/her car sticking out of the parking spot (despite there being so many empty spots ,that were not obstructed by snow ,around him/her) but he/she also decided to park sideways while they were at it. :rolleyes This was at the Bradford Walmart.

At school, there is limited parking in the parking lot. One of my fellow students had the audacity to take to take up FOUR SPACES (they were parked right in the middle of all four spaces). I had the school ticket them, sure enough they did. What a douche.

Yes they are official tickets of the city issued by our hotel staff. PERSONALLY I don't see why guests should have to pay for parking, but its the owners descion. When you go to pay for it, it has to be paid at the town of markham and the lady there France's is a tough one. We only take tickets back if we ticketed an actual registerd guest. Most of the time we don't.

It also helps that the owner named our conference centre after his good friend and former mayor of markham Donald cousens who assisted with the whole ticketing process. The current mayor is also a very good friend of the owner and a frequent guest of the hotel. Guess it pays to have friends in high places
