Yup, main roads aren't too bad but side streets are pretty slick. I saw salters out about 40 min ago in RH and Thornhill so it shouldn't get much worse into the night. It's gonna be +3 degrees by 6 am anyway.

Also understand why there are those caution signs about bridges icing. Briefly lost traction on all 4 wheels (snow tires) going 40 kph on a bridge. That was interesting

Thanks for the heads up. Just woke up now and seeing the news. Hopefully they're not crazy slippery when I head out in an hour or so. I'm pretty close to where those pictures are taken hwy7 and warden. Don't even have my winters on yet.

its slippery out there!, on my way back to the city from uxbridge on the 404 between newmarket and aurora there was a pickup trucked rolled in between the northbound/southbound lanes with all 4 wheels facing up. people need to learn to slow down in these weather conditions. it amazes me how may people flew past me in the left hand lane.

North on 27 between 9 and 88 I spun in 4th the entire way. Good thing it's mainly a straight road or I'd have been in the ditch for sure. It's always fun going 30 sideways for no reason at all. It's times like these I wish I had my RWD back. Easier to control on ice IMO.

this was actually a surprise for many driver since its ice rain and not snow. the weather were having now is apparently just covering everything in an ice sheet. at least in snow you got a chance at traction.

Exactly. I was actually only 3 min from
My house ( going 70) when it started to piss pour and freeze instantly. Even gearing down to slow down was causing me to slip. No steering AT ALL and no brakes. ( I hate abs).

As a test I turned my wheel half a turn to the left and didn't turn at all. Kept going straight.

Hey, I can see myself in that pic :)
Let's just say it was a busy night for emergency services. That accident alone involved almost 20 vehicles (https://twitter.com/TomPodolec/status/277950353809481729/photo/1). We're only going to get more weather like this, so take your time and drive safe out there.

I drove back to Burlington from Palmerston and it was slick all the way down to Guelph. Kept it at a steady 60 and took our time.

Once we hit a city with traffic everything was driven on so it was more just slush.

Car was frozen shut last night. Remote start and away I went. 7kms of driving, saw 2.5 accidents. The .5 is the dumbass that saw accident 2 and decided to hop a curb and join in the fun

How does everyone forget how to drive? Why do the people with the least experience, drive in the worst conditions?

i was right behind this shortly after it happened. abs went off a few times, even with snow tires.

luckily ppl behind me kept their distance and i was able to backup and detour through some office buildings on 14th.
