I thought I'd take the time to write a brief review for Oakville Tire. They have been servicing the Oakville area for over 65 years now and they way they treat their customers explains why they have been open for so long. I have received nothing but excellent customer service. I'll break it down into my last three trips to their shop.
First: My moms Golf had been experiencing a slow leak in the tire so I took it to them to have them patch the leak without an appointment. They took the car in right away and it was with them for about 35 minutes. Upon completion they called me to the counter and explained that it was in fact not the nail that had been causing the leek, but the valve stem wasn't seated properly. (they also removed the nail which didn't go all the way through the tire). When I thought it was the nail, I was expecting to pay around $40/$50 for them to fix it. The General Manager (Ken Borg) tells me that its $20 cash and I can be on my way.
Second: I bought my mom a new set of tires for Christmas because her's were in pretty bad shape and with winter coming I wanted something safer for her. I had done my research and settled upon Perelli P4 four seasons. I emailed the shop to get a quote on the tires and within a day I received a response from their C.S.R (Greg Savin). Admittedly the quote was a tiny bit higher than other places but Oakville Tire was closer to me so it off set the price of driving out to places that had them cheaper. I called and spoke with Greg on a Wednesday morning, and he told me he can have the tires there later that afternoon and ready for install the same day. Work didn't allow me so we settled to have it done on Friday Morning. I arrived at 7:45 to be the first car in the shop to have them done A.S.A.P. Now, I don't know about you, but I DO NOT function unless I have my coffee. I asked Ken if there was a Tim Horton's close by to get a coffee while I waited for the work to be completed. He said there wasn't, but he lent me the shop car to go to Tim Horton's to get my coffee. I was so blown away with this customer service gesture that it cemented my relationship with Oakville Tire.
Third: I'm getting my rims re-done at Stripping Technologies in Cambridge, but in order to do so I had to get the tires unmounted. I took them in and spoke with the Service Manager (Mike Carter) around 4:00pm on Tuesday and he told me that they would be ready by 10:00am Wednesday. I showed up today to pick them up and he brought them to the car and helped me put them in. After laying them down on the blanket I had in my trunk he asked one of the shop guys to grab tire bags because he didn't want the blanket getting dirty :P . I went to go pay for them and he insisted that I don't and to just come and see them when I have them painted and ready to buy new tires.
I have honestly never been to any other business that goes so far above and beyond what is expected of them. Every time I go I get surprised with how well they look after all of their customers. If you're ever in need of tires or even mechanical services, I would not hesitate to bring my car to Oakville Tire.
