I have been searching via google and the seach engine, and havent really found any recent reviews/ posts about BC and nothing really specific to our cars, so I thought I'd post my questions.
I'm looking at putting coilovers under my 3 in a few months, and have heard lots of good things about BC coilovers. So my questions;
What kind of experiance have you guys had with BC's under your 3?
Ever have any issues with them?
How do they hold up in the winter?
Does any one local carry/ can get them in (GTA or Barrie area)?
Any thing I should be aware of?
Thanks in advanced guys
Alpha Motorsports carry's them

It all depends on what you want to do with them.

I'll be doing mostly street driving, but I will definatly be doing some AutoX and some track time with the car. The car wont be slammed, but its definatly going lower. I'll be tossing a set of RX8 wheels under it aswell come spring time. I like the idea of having somthing adjustable. I've been in motorsports for a bit, and I'm pretty use to messing with suspension, but I've never messed with a street/ track set up.

Even the cheapest, crappiest coils will survive winter.
As with anything all you need to do is maintain them.

I wouldn't consider BC's to be great for auto-x or lapping although there is a lot worse but there is also a lot better! All depends on what you want to spend.

i have no experience with BC Coilovers but -->Import Image Racing (http://www.importimageracing.com/shopby/mazda/mazda_3/bc_racing.html)<-- gives you the option to select Swift Springs, custom spring rates, and custom valving. If you email them, they may also give you a better quote than what's listed on the website.

There's a place in keswick that does that.

+1. I would also like to add a question, the camber plates only come on the front? or rear as well?

No rear camber plates, you'd need to buy adjustable camber arms for the rear if you want or need to adjust the camber.

no problems with them so far. been on car for a bit more than a year. occasional tracking and daily driving. wouldnt get caught up in the hype over name brand too much.

NextMod has them 1150 Cash price, so does JSpec. Heard only great things about them and i'm getting a set soon myself. If you order from BC Racing themselves you can get different springs straight from them, and it's 1215.00 shipped. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replys so far guys.
I'm aware of the more expensive options and I realize the gains I would see with them over BC's, but I dont need the absolute best suspension. I wont be out on the track looking to break records. Just want to have some fun and have some adjustability so I can play with my set up, both on and off the track. Are the gains of a better set of coilovers worth the extra grand or two for a mostly street driven car?
As far as budget, I guess 1000-1300 is probably what I'd be willing to spend at this point. When time comes that I go order a set, I will definatly look to see what kind of used options I have first.
What kind of spring rates you you guys run on your coilovers? is the standard 10k/10k set up pretty good?

I've probably had my BC's the longest of anyone on here (RJ3 had his prior to me but sold them). I've had them since before the extreme drop. So that's about 3 years or so.
They have held up well, I never adjust them really though just lower them and leave them. Rust wise they are ok they were a little stubborn to go lower last summer but eventually complied.
I had to replace my pillowball mounts once as I hit some road construction but other than that no problems really.

im on my 2nd year without a problem. before winter i just spray them with a silicone lubricant to protect the threads and clean them after every winter.
No major rust yet and the only problem i have had was with the spring top mount, but BC sent me the koyo bearing kit for around $100cdn shipped.
If the coils start to clunk the koyo kit is a recommended upgrade.
Also the BC coils maxed to the lowest would be optimaly the lowest you should go, any lowerer you loose on alot of things.

Since this thread is already on the topic i'll post my question here. I purchased bc coils from a mazda3forums member who never even used them but got them last year spring-ish. I've emailed bc and they asked for the number on the spring to determine whether or not they are with the edk. I've got 2 different responses. One saying he doesn't think they are, other saying they are any purchased after jan 2011 were made with the edk.
I've searched for a physical way to tell and i'm getting no where, anyone got any knowledge on em aha

From what I recall your specs are:
8.5k 62"D 190mm length
EDP is 7k 160mm in length, I have those springs sitting in my garage actually I will read them tonight.

I've had mine for 1 full winter and this 1 included. Once I installed them 2 summer ago I never had any problems with them. I just find them to stiff. But if you like the stiffness, go for it!
