Short Shift Plate

Corksport has the short shift plate for the Mazdaspeed 3 2nd gen. I contacted them and asked if that would fit the Mazda 3 2nd gen. They said it wouldn't... Here's my conundrum, isn't the Mazdaspeed 3 transmission the same as the Mazda 3? Would someone be able to tell me answer my question. Thanks.

well the 5speed in the base model would be different, and the skyactiv 6speed is skyactiv specific( not 100% though) and the 2.5 6speed i have no idea if its similar

I know that they are currently developping a plate for the Gen 1 MZ3, if that can help you in any way :)

its different. as the speed has the shifter weight and i dont believe the 6spd in the gt does. however James barone racing sells a shifter plate for the mazda 3 and speed 3. i think its about $100 or so shipped. they all do about the samething. so JBR or TWM short shifters also makes a plate but i believe it costs more.

I have a jbr short shift plate. Works fine. No complaints.

I have been seeing the odd complaint with some shifter plates popping off. I have a twm unit and it has been great.
