If I had to name a time I would get hulk like furious at my car, this would be it. First, if the mods know what you call this cover under the front of the car that attaches to the bumper, feel free to change the title accordinly. Not even sure if appropriate section..

So ever since I got the AE bumper on, this damn shield has been a MAJOR pita. It bolts or screws onto the stock bumper but theres nothing to attach it to on this bumper. Anyway back in November I took it in for service, after I pick it up I drive a good length then I hear this awful scrape on every bump in the road. I pull over and look and its this piece hanging down that hits the road on bumps. Kind of surprised as I ran all summer without that happening, but I quickly found out you can shove it back up on the ledge of inside of the bumper and its all fine. Then in February I took the car in for the next service, same thing happened again, of course this time its snowing. Pull over get out and look and just a fking pile of snow and gravel in the freezing cold I push it all away and push it back up. I drive a bit further and it does it again on the same trip. Pull over, shovel the snow away push it up. Does it a third time and I'm just furious (and since seat belts have a mind of their own, thats when they choose to lock up on you). Get out lay down and ram it back up there. Finally got to my gf's just soaked. Ever since that day its been a b****. It would do it at random times just popping out. Later me and my gf figured snow might be flying through the grill in the bumper and building up to push it back out. But its happened so much now just hitting a good enough bump makes it pop out again. The asphalt has grinded enough of it away to do that now.

I share that because looking back, its kind of funny. But, is this thing really necessary? Could I just cut it off some how? I'm thinking might not be wise if I'm putting an intake in; one more way for water to get at it. In that case wondering maybe if something was to be attached to it to extend its length so it doesnt fall out. Id be hesitant at replacing it as it would probably just happen again..

Thanks again in advance for any input.

I forgot to bolt up my splash shield and this happened to me too. I ripped mine off. Not a great idea really, as now water has free access to the foglight area which is not good.

If possible, just get a couple self-tapping screws and screw it to the bottom of the AE bumper. If the bumper and splash shield don't overlap, consider buying a bracket to attatch the shield to.

Just use self tapping screws and screw it into the fiberglass. That's what I did.
