So I want to upgrade my suspension. Partly for looks (lower) and partly for performance (friend is CASC-OR ASN instructor who wants to take me out)

Here's where I need your experience:

I can't afford stainless steel KWs. For those of you who have run rust/corrosion resistant coilovers during Canadian winters (I'm in the city, lots of road salt) What have you experienced? Have they seized? Corroded? etc?

I have an 08 MZ3 with 07 MS3 wheels and 215/45R18 Potenza RE050a. I only want to lower 1-1.5" not sure if I'll be in spec or need camber arms.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks man, couple of experiences there. Do you adjust ride height in winter?

I personally don't adjust my height in the winter. I might go stupid low this summer though so I might end up raising the car up next winter. If you're only dropping a couple inches you shouldn't have to adjust your height in the winter for any reason. Quite a few members run completely slammed through the winter with no real issues.

FYI used KW's come up in the classifieds here every now and then. If you watch the classifieds here carefully you might be able to snap up a set of KW's this fall.

I just took apart my coils (completely) which have been on my car all year for 3 years. They didn't cease, you just have to be mindful of the amount of crud on the threads, if you move it and get more crud in there things like to not move.

I never adjusted my coils anyway but down lol

LOL. Awesome. Thanks guys, just needed a little nudge.

I'm thinking BC since I cant wait to the fall for a used set of KWs! haha. Seems like BC are the best in that price range since they have height/camber/dampening flexibility.

The other ones I was looking into were ST coilovers. Same manufacturer as KW but plated steel as opposed to stainless and fixed dampening.

ST does have a limited corrosion warranty as well, don't they?

There is always a "sale" at nextmod. If you want the best deal for kw then wait for jrp's yearly 50% off sale. You can get v2 for 1400 iirc and v3 for 1800.

Do you know roughly when the sale comes around?
