Tapatalk Update

I just updated Tapatalk to the most current version. I apologize for any interruptions.

We have now added push notifications for Tapatalk.

Default settings are for Subscribed Threads as well as Private Messages.

If you wish not to receive these please do the following.

Go back to the home screen that shows "local" and "previously visited" forums. At the bottom should be "settings". Under "setting" go the the Advanced section and select "Notifications & Sync". At this point either turn off the notifications completely or select Torontomazda3 and deselect anything you wish to not get notifications for.


If you have any questions please post them up here.



I want to add that this notifications feature does not work on the Tapatalk HD app for the ipdad. It's a developer thing so don't ask. They just aren't doing it as far as I know.

Yeah I'll have to see how bad the notifications are. If there is a crazy amount then maybe I remove the feature.

How to control your notifications on Tapatalk


1. Go to the settings at the bottom.

Under "Push Notifications" select Torontomazda3

(You can also control your subscriptions from here. See below)

3. Deselect anything you don't want pushed to your phone. I currently only have Private Messages selected.

For android, push notification only works for broadcast. Push Notification will support PMs and subscribed topics in later updates.

You will have to adjust your Tapatalk push notification settings again as I have updated the server files.

It seems to have reset mine. The procedure is pretty close to bring the same as mentioned above.

Tapatalk is awesome. I never use the browser any more, you get notifications and the private messaging is somewhat close to an IM. They should really upgrade that part to look more like the Facebook or android message bubbles.

It's actually pretty bad since a lot of people supposedly paid for the app and now it's just gone and there is not support for it.

Dont know what it is but ive tried downloading the app off the app store a couple of times now and nothing. Would not surprise me if my phones is broken, its been through hell and back and in places you would not believe.

So for a number of months, Tapatalk images were awesome. They hosted them (negating the need for some other 3rd party host) and they were full size, everything was perfect (early on their image hosting was very limited). Now they've gone to a system where you get small thumbnails if you're viewing it in desktop mode - which sucks for people on their normal computers.

Of course if I upload an image as an attachment, you get tiny thumbnails in desktop view. Also sucks (IMO).

Anyone think our attachments should show up as regular size (say ~800px) images in posts? Clicking could still give them full-size if they are larger.

Nope. My iPad is the same. Pretty brutal since iOS was one of the first to get this. You think they would keep all versions with the same options. Oh well.

You can change it a little so it opens up to the forum selection tab rather than feed and then change the forum tabs to default to unread for when you come back.

Make sure you have signed up for a tapatalk ID within the app. Uninstall your current version. Search tapatalk 4.9.5 apk (got mine from apkmirror). If you've already allowed "install from unknown sources" set on your phone, just install the app and sign in with the tapatalk ID.
