I want to remove the 2.5 emblem and put the AXELA one in, are there holes behind that? While im here are there pin holes behind the M on the trunk. I purchased a evil M. btw I drive a 2010 if that makes any difference.

There's holes for the "M" for sure, 2 to be exact. Nothing for the 2.5, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I just seen a video with a 2.5 removal. No holes. Now what to do about the holes for the M when the evil M comes in? hmmm

I'm not too sure about that, because I just used the original M and cut it myself, so the holes still fit perfectly back into the slots. I'm sure you could just use emblem adhesive and cover the holes with the new emblem.

+1
Use the holes as a guide to make sure it's centered and straight

This wont cause any problems in the long run then?

it shouldnt, but rust could form behind it potentially. why not sell the evil M and cut the stock M yourself? if youre careful you could cut it with a dremal, but be safe and take it off.

where did you buy the evil M? have you looked on the back to see if it has any pins? if it does than it should fit right back in place of the old one.

+1. It was actually a lot easier to cut than you think. I actually just used household scissors to make the initial cuts and shape, and then I used sandpaper and grinded into shape until was happy. You can use the symmetrical lines on the back of the original emblem to help you measure where to cut. It's also a lot more pleasing to look at after knowing you did it yourself.

Sucks there's holes for the m symbol and for the emblem that says mazda, I'd like to all the emblems off the back of mine.

You can pay to have your trunk shaved, but its not free :( be happy though, without holes to lign the emblems, one of us would have crooked/misalingned emblems from factory

When you do it yourself did you just get double sided tape from Canadiana or what?

I removed the mazda symbol from mine. On hindsight...Was a fairly straightforward job with a heat gun, some filler, paint and sanding down. Maybe not as professional as how the shops do it but I thought it was a nice DIY job. :) The other emblems were stuck on with 3m tape so it was easy to remove with some soapy water. I've not down the evil M so very interested to see how yours turns out. :)

Yeah, just double sided mounting tape. I got mine from Rona, but you can get them at any hardware store.. Canadian tire, Home Depot, walmart, Etc.
