Alright so i just recently had a replica japanese plate be made and i thought it would be cool for pictures and all that, but the real question is, Can i have it on my car in addition to my regular Ontario license plate? Hoping it's not illegal. Thanks for your replies everyone.

I think they're illegal if you drive them with it. Not sure though, you might try calling the ministry and ask them directly.
But they'll probably wouldn't permit this.

I see VW guys with German plates in their back window quite a bit. If the Japanese plate is just for show/shits then just take it on/off when beeded

I'm going to say i think it is illegal, but i cannot say if they are enforced by police
see below
No other numbers to be exposed
13. (1) No number other than that upon the number plate furnished by the Ministry shall be exposed on any part of a motor vehicle or trailer in such a position or manner as to confuse the identity of the number plate. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 13 (1).
This could potentially apply to OP situation, again it would depend upon what an officer deems to be "confusing".

I've known people to get tickets for international plates on their car in addition to their own plates.

My friend used to get pulled over all the time for having a euro plate displayed. It wasn't on the outside of the car either, was inside the car on the dash. So I'd say it depends on the officer. I wouldn't do it, personally.
