I got my car a month ago from the dealer (2012 GX), it only has 1100 kms on it and when i lift off the brakes they grind, it makes a noticeable grinding noise and you can really feel it on the pedal.
I called my dealership and the mechanic is suppose to call, but I decided to post here to see if anyways has an idea of what it is.

Is it constant or does it dissipate over time?

When I let off the brake the grinding stops but as soon as I touch the pedal it starts again. Its almost like it isn't making full contact.

Could be a lot of rust buildup on the rotors. If your car sat on the dealer lot for a long time (which I would guess it did since it's a 2012 model) the brake rotors tend to rust after a while.
Either way, it's going to be covered under warranty so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I would bet that it just needs a little bed in.
Google "brake bed in procedure" and do that.
Maybe a small stone got stuck between the brake pad and the rotor. Let the dealer take care of it.

Take it to the dealer and they should fix it under warranty. Had an issue with my breaks early in my ownership of the vehicle and it got fixed warranty. Don't think I paid a penny iirc.

At 1100km. I sure hope not and highly doubt.

I already called the dealership, the mechanic is going to be calling me soon. The closest dealership is almost 4 hours away so I want to avoid going there.

Ya man that sucks. Before you bother taking it there take off your tires and see if anything is stuck.
