So, my wife has decided to sell her car. I'm planning on putting up a post here but we've never sold a car before. Is there anything that I should do before I sell the car or stuff that I should do during the sale of the car?
I found this link after a quick Google search -> http://www.blogto.com/sports_play/2012/01/how_to_sell_a_car_in_toronto/.
Those 6 points listed seem too easy. I feel like that I'm missing something. Thanks for any help.

That website seems pretty good for the steps to follow.
Some other pointers would be:
-Buy UVIP and carproof (nice to have the carproof handy so that people get all the information up front).
- Post ads on autotrader, kijiji, TM3 (be honest in the ad, that way you'll get more serious buyers)
-Before taking pictures of your car remember to CLEAN IT! So many people post car ads with dirty interior and exteriors and say that the car will be cleaned before you buy it...You'll get a better response if the car looks good.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't think about cleaning it before. I'll give it another wash and vacuum the interior again.
I thought normally the buyers would buy the carproof. I was going to list out the one accident that it was in and the other imperfections.

The problem I found when looking for cars was that paying $50 for a carproof for every car you're looking at is a hassle.
When people posted the carproof and a detailed description of what happened (with pics of the accident) it made it much easier to really determine the value of the car and then offer a price since all the information is there.

If you already have the carfax it will be more enticing to potential buyers.
Cleaning the car is a major thing.
ALWAYS POST A PRICE.
when I was looking for a car I automatically skipped over the adds without a price.
You can be honest without being negative. Keep that in mind. Don't list the nicks an scratches and any imperfections you feel the need to list save until the end of the add.
Ask slightly more then you want. Leave yourself some wiggle room.

Service interval and mods are a good idea.
Personally I don't care if the car got an oil change 500km ago. I still change fluids when I purchase a car.

This is great. Thanks for all the tips.
1) Is buying the Used Vehicle Information Package mandatory?
2) It sounds like the buyer is responsible to send in the form to transfer the car to his/her name. Is that right? The seller just fills a form, signs it, and hands it over to the buyer?

take good pics of the car ( not cell phone quality) and make sure you clean it nice and good. Also make sure the car is clean when someone comes to see the car.
