Hey guys I have looked at a bunch of mufflers online for my car but I am interested in feed back on a half decent one that's not going to cost an arm n a leg atm. I am just looking for something to add a bit more sound. I know I wont get a lot with only doing the muffler but I know I will get something. Input would be great before I purchase one.
Thanks

ever thought about doing resonator deletes if you just want to be louder?

This was my first thought but I have been told. To just do that and the ammount of work it takes to do that its better off just to do the muffler instead.

if your gonna get a muffler and get it installed, might as well save up the money for an axleback in the least. not many who have done a single muffler for just this reason. why spend a little bit of money for a part that will make your car louder, but wont sound as good when spending a bit more money for a part that bolts up and sounds decent to great. I believe that Cobra did one, that should start you off on some direction. gl.

You're better off getting a used speed exhaust or looking through some classifieds.
A custom muffler change is going to be pricey anyway as the outlet diameters probably won't match the existing tips.

So I should stick with my original plan and just wait it out and do it proper eh? Alright well if theres no great gain in this besides sounding like a fart box why bother. In the past iv done straight pipe so never really knew what to expect out of just a muffler.

Resonator delete gives a crunchy noise when shifting...save up for a proper exhaust

Try and find a Mazdaspeed 3 muffler. Axle back will bolt right on, and sounds great. Cat-back with take some modifications but sounds even better. Also increased throttle response.

If you just want sound and/or looks, just get a muffler shop to bend you a piece of SS pipe and remove either the resonator or muffler, or both. Youll get the sound you want and could get the person doing the job, so weld on any type of exhaust tip(single, duel, angled) the choices are endless

buy a used MS axle back, or just cut your muffler off and have someone weld up custom pipes, prolly only be around $200 ( at most)

:facepalm yes I could get a speed muffler. Yes I could hack up my stock exsaust. Why have I not done this? I do not want a speed exsaust and I do not want tu mutilate my exsaust system for a axle back. I would like to know if anyone can answer my previous question without the same simple answer. Bolt on is the path I would like to go atm. If I have to il weld up my own axle back but I would rather not have to do that, especially if it means everyone suddenly wants me to do the same thing for em:chuckle
If anyone is aware of an axle back that doesnt cost the same as a CB please post or pm me.
There isn't. If there was, someone would have posted about it (you couldn't figure that out)?

I have a custom straight pipe bolted on the back end so it's basically a straight pipe axle back.
All these things can be done if you want bolt on, they're just exhaust flanges, you just need to find a good mufller shop (I went to Zoro) that know how to bend properly.
This is the order of the lowest price to higher
1. wait and buy used.
2. make a straight pipe like what I did that bolts where the axle is, the shop can weld the hangers
3. same as number 2 and add a muffler if you want it to be toned down
4. Buy something new

Gotta be willing to travel for quality my friend.
I live in Richmond Hill, and get my alignments in West Scarborough and headers in in Pickering.

Can't really take a day off, not worth it. However I'll probably hit up zoro at some point. Thanks.

I do my alignments at Mazda in Newmarket. I'm sure their quality is fine and the price of gas factored in is not worth it to go down to scarbs. I don't mind travelling if it's warrented. from my understanding removing a resonator isnt quality sensitive work. However I am willing to travel. Just been busy a lot so local is the best option for me. I'll probably go down to sauga for it since it looks like its raining Thursday.

Ha! An alignment from Newmarket Mazda is $118 when I went there. And they did such a crap job.
Limitless Auto is $79 tax in and I have gone there 3 times in the past year. I send people there and everyone says that they have never been happier.

Guess I'll check them out when i get my new wheels on. I def didnt pay that much at Mazda IIRC.
k.s.l or altech will do it for less. $60 cash for 4 wheel alignment (including rear adjustable camber arm), and vouched for by many here.
