so its come to this...this is the future of racing history. no doubt some of you have visited The Ring at some point in your lives and some of you wish to be there and race on it before you die (i know i do). sadly, in this economy....the ring will be going up on sale next month. details in the link.

sad to see something that play a big role in motor sports on the risk of "shutting down". tell us what you think on this situation.

but ya its sad to see ... Every gearhead in the world from all types of motorsports should come together and raise some money. Im sure there could be enough money to keep it alive.

Not only that, but this is a huge loss for Germany. The ring is a tourism attraction and there be guaranteed increase in street racing. nothing is like the ring in the world

The middle east rich people will pick it up. Turn it around and make it a better tourism spot.

I can actually see someone from there doing it. Lets hope its someone who understands what the ring is about and not turn it into some kind of general purpose tourism spot.

I was lucky enough to drive a few laps around it this past summer. I cannot express how amazing it felt, driving on a track that I had driven in video games as a kid!

I can't see how the track itself would lose money, but I'm thinking the hotel/amusement park section is where the majority of the money is lost when there aren't race events going on that would attract thousands of people.

Hopefully someone that has a love of racing will purchase it!
