Does it happen after it rained the day before or after you've washed it? For some people, OEM brake pads make sounds when reversing when the pads get wet.

its rust on your rotors, the pads are scraping the surface rust off. no worries. this prolly happens after you washed it, it rained, or early morning right?

Yes the rain or water hits the rotors causing them to rust. When the pads hit the rotors it causing a squealing sound which is the rust coming off the rotors.

Anyone else want to say the same thing in a different way. This thread could hit 20 posts easily bu scrambling the words above or adding a point or debating if it is really rust or just surface rust or hps vs oem. Etc. ;)

even morning dew on the rotors will cause them to screech. this is due to a combination of the moisture penetrating the rotors causing them to oxidize and when your pads (OEM or otherwise) make contact with your rotors, which have oxidized, the shaving of the oxidization causes the screeching noise.

Might be a long shot but I guess there's a possibility that your brakes are worn but brake wear indicator was installed on the wrong side of the pad?

I had this happen two days in a row. Just so happened that I was due for schedule break maintenance. Hasn't returned since.
