Hey everyone.

As the title says. When I apply the brakes. I hear a ticking sound coming from it. Kind of like when you spin a roulette wheel type of tick...

When I let off the brakes I don't hear the sound anymore..

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did someone just do the brakes? You sure all the bolts are tight? We're the caliper retention springs put back on? My guess is the caliper or bracket is moving around a bit under braking. Or the pads aren't properly seated into the piston and/or bracket.

That or something got stuck in there.

problem i have seen on some after market sets is the pad doesnt sit tight in the guide rail and when you hit the pedal and it contacts the rotor it chatters back and forth.

That's true. I think my front pads are finished anyway. I'm going to change all four pads.

I have after market disks too. Their cross drilled. Is there a special pad I should get? Or will any suffice.

Go OEM if you don't plan on taking the car to the track.

Funny, I have a set of cross-drilled rotors and aftermarket pads, and I get the same noise! It's been like that for about a year or two, and I only notice it on my summer rims - not my oem 15's with winters.

My situation exactly! I'll see if its the pads when i change them and report back!

That's not normal, something is probably not quite flush on the rotor and causes it to tick every time it goes around. If its crossdrilled its more likely something stuck/sticking out of one of the holes. Could be nothing significant, could be something that is messing up your pads a bit.
