View Full Version : Crap, yet another passenger-side engine mount

This is more of a rant on Mazda designing poorly made products for our vehicle. It's been just under a year since my last replacement of the passenger side engine mount and the new one has kicked the bucket, again. Engine is bucking accelerating from standstill. Opened up the hood and noticed wet marks all over the mount.
I had my vehicle sound deadened so I refuse to counter all that work with a solid mount. Any other alternatives? :bang

I thought the updated mounts weren't supposed to sh!t the bed so often..

Pic of the dead mount?
I thought the gen1 and gen2 mounts were the same, no?

I think they are the same between model years, I meant the update Mazda made to the mounts themselves; cwp_sedan mentioned it in the other PMM thread. It's possible but (imo) unlikely that baymoe got an older mount if it was only a year ago
why not try an aftermarket 60 duro?

Noob question. How would you know that ur mount is gone? Just checking to see any leaks around the mount?
I think mine has never been replaced before... :(

I'll try and remember to grab a picture today.
You'll see hydraulic fluid or wet spots around the mount. At worse, all the fluid may have already drained and if you look carefully, you may be able to see torn rubber.
Prior to the Mazda, never had I known that replacing engine mounts would be the norm :facepalm.

I would think it's the newer mount. Got it from Joe at MoT.

The million dollar question is - has Mazda re-designed the mounts with the new Skyactiv motors or just re-using this same crap? ;)

No biggie. The part can be sourced from an affiliate dealer under $100 and the install is quick and easy.

mine broke as well, replaced with AWR mount so I wouldn't have to do it again.
