Subs hit harder and no rattle :D.

Not with the spray, but with B-quiet Ultimate rolls. I just hate that hollow sound whenever my seats are down (sedan) while driving and that helped tremendously. Whenever the sub hits, it no longer feels like the car is coming apart.

That was my problem. When I had the 1 12" in there it wasn't too bad but then I upgraded to 2 12"s and a bigger amp it drove me up the wall with the plastic piece over top of the trunk. I leave my seats down too and even with that it still rattled like crazy. Spent 6 hours and 5 cans of it and the sound is just 100x better then it was.
what exactly did you use to deaden the sound?
my pc is pretty loud, i was thinking of putting some of this stuff on the inside of my computer case haha. Only problem is that hopefully it doesnt insulate the case and make it hot

Just don't block any vents, and make sure you have good fans. The majority of the sound is going to be the fans anyways, and I'm not entirely sure how much this will help. Interesting idea though.

They used to make stuff for PC's back in the day...your better bet is spending money on a higher quality case with big fans. Using 120mm fans instead of 80mm and then a triple layered case make a huge difference. I have an Antec P182 for my old desktop and it's a quiet little case but still cools massively.

lol bit of a thread jack
im using an antec sonata 3, the fan is not too bad as i slowed it down so its not loud
its the gpu that can get pretty loud, im using msi afterburner to control it but i just bought battlefield 3 and its ramping up alot to handle that game

Ya, thread jacks ftw!
The real solution is just to get a water cooling unit, or headphones :D

Hey Jaime, What kind of spray seal did you use? I had sound deadening material in the trunk but I put in 2 12" which are pointed up into the trunk. Now my car is rattling like crazy everytime the subs pound. I would like to try this

Lol completely thread jacked but anyhow I do think it could work for a computer. Considering the difference it made in my car. Take a trip to CT and in the paint aisle (spray, touch up etc) and its rubberized spray. Amazing the difference. I still can't believe it when I turn up the volume. Ill take a pic of the can I bought when I'm on break.

The problem with that stuff is it stinks things up. I wouldn't want asphalt based stuff in my car.

Realistically it did smell quite a bit. But it subsided after a few days. Just gotta air the trunk out really well. I still believe that it was worth it. My thought was I could either spend over 300+ on Dynomat or spend 50 with the same result and deal with the smell that goes away after a few days and you get the same result. Plus it makes the trunk look good.

If you had clicked my first link, they have a product called spectrum that's designed specifically for this application and would have been nearly as cheap without the smell and crap.
The thing is, on a hot day (like this week) that stuff is going to turn to goo and smell again.

Fair enough. I did look at it but by that time I had already bought the can of it. And actually no. I've had it in my car for a week and a half and there is no smell of it. I've been checking it multiple times and there is no sign of going gooey. And during that time it has been really hot.

I'm interested in getting this stuff. I've got 1 15inch in the truck, a little concerned about it turning to goo. Although if your made it thru yesterday and today it should be fine. Do you park your outside?

Will the rubber anti-rust spray cans found at home depot work as well?

I've checked my trunk everyday since I did it to make sure it would be fine and so far so good. And yep I park outside everyday. Half the time on the street when I'm at my girlfriend's house. I didn't touch my car from 6:30am till around 5:30pm yesterday and I checked it and not a single problem with it being sticky or gooey. Once it sits for a while it becomes hardened and flexible. Its designed to hold well as far as I have seen. Mind you doing this on a day like today you may have a harder time letting it dry. I spent 5 hours taking everything out of the trunk and spraying it down (taking breaks in between because breathing it in isn't great when putting it on) and then I used an industrial fan and put it up to my trunk and left it for about 3 hours. Since then I had the smell for 2-3 days and it went away. As for the Rubberized anti rust I am not sure. But couldn't hurt to try. There are many ways to do it I believe but this is the way I did it and it turned out phenomenally.

Ooo that stuff. I dunno anymore. My trunk is already all rattling and loose so I dont know if this will work. Plus the smell really concerns me. Can you smell in the car?

Lol so is mine. And just putting the 5 cans in it did such a world of difference. The trunk rattles still outside but realistically if its loud enough it will do it unless you have like an inch thick of the stuff but inside it sounds so much cleaner. My issue was that plastic piece above the subs. It used to rattle like crazy and it drove me nuts. And I did this and its not bad at all anymore :). And I am not gonna lie it was bad for the first few days but if you air it out as much as you can the smell will go away and you will have a much crisper sound.

Anyone use the 3M mat type sound deadener sold at Canadian tire in rolls? I have used dynamat before but it seems harder and harder to get a hold of.

I saw that when I got the spray for the car. But not too sure on how well it would work. As I say I used the spray and it worked wonders for 50. Made a big difference. I have thought about using some sort of dynomat for the top of the trunk where the metal bar is.
