View Full Version : Quotes in search for exact phrase?

When I do a search, sometimes I get a lot of results that do not have anything to do with my search, but include the words used in another order, or even in completely different paragraphs in a post.

For instance, when I search "Sky Blue Mica", I see results from as far back as 2005. (To my knowledge, that color wasn't even used until 2012). I've noticed some threads that start off with "I've searched but, I can't seem to find...", that I feel could also have been avoided with this search function.

Any way we could enable using quotations in search bars for "exact phrase" searches?

Type that into Google

Thanks! Using that method, I managed to find your sticky from last year including the topic.:P

Wasn't sure if the forum had an option available that S.F.W. could enable for us, as I've used quotes on various forums in the past with success.

BTW: Might want to edit that post to remove Lockdown from Decal/Plate pick-up location

It's not an option I can enable.
At some point we will begin testing VB5, search is much improved in VB5, but there are also a lot of changes, and it is a complex migration. If I don't see VB5 making things much better, I can set up a google search bar within TM3.
