In late 2013 or 2014 I am hoping to buy an aftermarket header for my 2.0 Mazda 3.

For the members who have changed their header, what were the first noticeable things you found different with the car?
I have a MS3 exhaust on and just wondering what I might expect from the changes?

Thanks. Enjoy the weekend, TM3 people.

Loudness, harshness, incivility, and just a general lack of respect for anyone or anything around.

I think my wife will stay away for sure.
Serious. Is it that loud? Does it sound like I should be on a track?
What about from a power perspective?

Thanks for the input.

Added mid range pull. And a f*cking buzz that won't go away.

Oooh. Sounds like something worth saving for.
I will keep my eyes peeled on the Classifieds.
Any more feedback is like being a voyeur. :chuckle

I have the Vibrant Headers with the Vibrant CBE. I am not sure exactly how much power and noise gain you get from adding a header because I installed them both at the same time. The cold start idles are the loudest. When I accelerate, it starts to get loud around 2k rpm and howls over 3k. You do feel a little gain in power around 2-4k rpm but not a whole lot. you do get more noise gain than power to be honest. gears 3 and 4 pulls more noticeably on the highway. I personally love it. I've had it for almost a year now and I've learn to control the noise. I usually just let the car roll in residential areas or accelerate slowly. btw my car is an AT so power gain might be different and noise level stay consistent as you change gears. my biggest fear with it was passing my emissions test which I did in April. but I think just as long as you don't have a CEL, you should be fine.
