New 2010 MS3 owner

Hey Torontomazda3,

I've been lurking the Mazda forums for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on a 2010 arrest-me-red Mazdaspeed 3 with Tech package. I've had the car for a few weeks and I'm pretty darn impressed. I'm coming from a 2005 Acura RSX-S, with a handful of modifications. The cars are polar opposites!

I plan on keeping the Speed3 relatively stock. My plans are modest, and include an intake & TIH (Cobb or CPE), Dash Hawk/Accessport, better rubber and a few authentic/quality interior & exterior pieces.

I'm located in Cambridge and I'm in KW frequently. I'd love to meet up and all advice is welcome!

Get a rear motor mount and oil catch can before you do any others mods, then get the intake/accessport/HPFP upgrade. Read up and have fun modding :)

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for more Speed3s in the area! As for photos, they'll be here shortly; I've banked nearly 8 hours into detailing and hand buffing/waxing the car. First mods have been ordered and installed too. BF Goodrich G-Force Comps and a Red Line e-brake boot, ha! I'm thinking flaps and a few Mazdaspeed items are up next.

I'm looking into running a spirited DD, nothing more. From what I have researched, (albeit a lot boils down to preference), performance mods will/should include RMM, HPFP/internals, Accessport and intake + TIH. Thoughts? Has anybody seen any worthy difference running 91 vs. 94?

Might want a test pipe too, cheaper than a full downpipe and easier to do. But I am sure you will be happy with an intake and TIH for a long time, and your fuel economy won't suffer with you wanting to go zoom all the time.

94 is a little better for knock resistance but 91 is fine if you are just puttering around in it.

I go with 94 because I run the map (more boost on 94 vs 91) for it on my Accessport and it reduced the amount of knock I was getting at part throttle. I think it's worth the extra buck but that one is up to you!

Welcome. Once you start it's a slippery slope.

91 vs 94 OTS is failry minimal, the benefit really comes with a car specific tune.
