*sigh*....it's official now.
The insurance company has written-off my chariot due to sustained water damage from last week's downpour.

Now the fun begins on the search for a replacement vehicle.

I have a silly question...

Does the insurance premium goes up due to water damage, fire, etc?

Things that you can't control...

Good question...there will be a variance in insurance premiums since I will be getting an entirely different vehicle.

The car was sitting in 15cm of water ( up to the door bottom) for nearly 40 minutes before I got help to push it off the road.

I have different priorities....

Great choice! Are these readily available though? I haven't seen any sitting at any of the Ford's I've been tough not that I've been looking terrible hard. But there is a limited supply of them.

Sorry to hear, really liking the Focus. Although maybe you should just buy a beater and wait for the new 2014 Mazda3

did they already take the car, or is there time to pilage and plunder? :p

Picking this up tomorrow:

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/2805/fync.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/21/fync.jpg/)

2013's have stopped production, 2014's have started. 2014's don't have many differences other than two new options, a racing strip across the hood, roof and rear hatch (omg +hp), and avaliable Rado Grey rims and red calipers (about $400?). The 2014's also have a $400-$500 extra added onto MSRP, not sure why.

Let me know if you want details on pricing.

Edit: They're a bit harder to find, depending on colour. Like mentioned above, the ST is pretty limited, not sure how many Ford has allocated for Canada, but the Focus ST forums I've been lurking doesn't appear to be very active, at least for Canadians.

They already took the car but I stripped it clean before hand. And to think I almost bought a new set of tyres a week ago

F8ck me...a fully loaded model came to $31089 ( web config with the Employee markdown of $2788).
The fun part will be convincing the wife that this is a simple compact car :chuckle

If you want to take a test drive, not many dealers actually have them on the lots. Donway Ford, Markville ford, Summit ford, Thorncrest ford has 2. mcalpine ford, fraser ford, dixie ford, whiteoak ford have one. That's it. The rest are stored somewhere magical with GT500's, GTs and Unicorns.

A fully loaded one you can get for a tad over $30k, pre-taxes. ;)

Your car was sitting in a puddle and they wrote it off?!
*Jeremy clarkson voice* "Oh no, the tires got wet! This car is completely destroyed!"

I really like the focus st but I wanted to say if you've been watching Top Gear recently they claim the Fiesta ST is a "Brilliant Car". Don't know if it will fit the bill but if I was to make enough money I think that's the new car I would go for.

Was thinking along the same lines ( wet starter ) but without having the damage report.....the payout was pleasantly surprising.

Thanks but it is too small for a primary car and my line of work. Plus it is even harder, if not impossible to find one in the GTA.

Does this mean that your insurance gives you back what you paid for your 2008.5? Also what was your mileage? I'm just trying to gauge the value, thanks.

Nope blackbook value. Mileage was 52K Km and received mid 13K.

For those who love excel spreadsheets, Toyota has a decent one for comparing vehicles ( need to export) . Too bad they have the wrong information on the CX-5 2.0L.

Did you notice that the rear wheel wells are odd in which there were no plastic covers like the front?
I checked all the vehicles that were in the showroom and they a had the same feature.

Yup. I googled it as soon as I noticed. There are a few posts about it on the CX5 forums.

To the mods: Would it be possible to have a CX5 section?

We can discuss possibly creating subsections in the Other Cars section.

Post up a thread in server suggestions or whatever and we can address it there.
