Hey guys I`m new to this whole forum thing but I have a 2010 Mazda 3 GS Sport and I`m looking for some reasonably priced coil overs that are pretty good too... Same price range at Race Land US but for the second gen! Any companies or websites?

Is there any extra work that they'll have to do to install them because they're made for first gen? And its okay nobody has to know they're racelands

Figwhich

And for it to fit the 2010 gs sport do they have to be mazda speed coils or just the mazda 3?

Dear lord.
You do not have a speed. You do not need speed coilovers...

Okay my bad but I guess there's no difference from first gen coils to second gen? Is there anything I have to change to make them fit or is it an easy install?

That's your answer. No mods needed. You can install them the same as if you bought coils made specifically for gen 2.

You need a longer bolt for the rear. Google "Raceland coils on gen 2 mazda 3" to find specifics.

Ok. I didn't consider a bolt a mod.

Save yourself trouble and go and ask for the rear shock bottom 17mm bolt from the dealership.

When my buddy (07 Mazda3 Sedan owner) helped install my springs, he said everything was identical to his car as far as the suspension goes. He said literally nothing had changed. I have a 2013 Skyactiv HB.

How are the racelands though? can you expect to get a season out of them and thats it? anyone been on them for a while?

I asked the same question essentially in another forum so I'm gonna copy and paste it here as well for more answers....

Hi all, I have a 2013 Skyactiv HB and am current lowered using just springs (Eibach Sportlines). I'm really happy with the ride comfort not as harsh as I thought it would be, but I want to go lower. can I get lower with new/different struts? If I need coilovers I'd like some suggestions on which ones with some reasoning. I Currently have RX-8 wheels and 225/40/18 tires. I'm also looking for new wheels but for now I want MOAR LOW lol. eventually after new wheels are bought I will start refining the stance. My main goals with the car are comfort, drivability, and LOOKS. I want to look as aggressive as possible while maintaining as much ride comfort as possible. I have zero experience with coilovers, never rode in a car with them installed so I don't know what to expect. I was surprised by the lack of discomfort when I changed the springs, from the way ppl talked I thought I was going to be riding around in a forklift (i.e. No suspension rock hard ride, weekly visits to chiropractor lol)

here's some current pics of the car.

Stance and comfort do not go together, one or the other unless you go bags

Honestly my KW's are pretty good for comfort. Maybe I just expected worse. Budget coils are another story.

I think I expect it to be so terrible that in reality I'll think its fairly mild as well. which Kw's do you have?

So with that in mind some products do vary in comfort some better than others and I'd like to be as smooth AS POSSIBLE since my kids and wife ride in my car regularly, and I drive it 90 miles a day on the interstate.

Hahah as I'm often reminded!

But yes certain coilovers are more comfortable than others, but honestly I think when you're standing your ride you're gonna be sacrificing comfort, if you're not you aren't even playing the game lol

I had Racelands. Then I went air. Best decision ever.

but to sum up yes you need longer bolt in the rear for second gen. You need to swap the top mounts from your stock to the racelands.

I have a 2013 MZ3 Skyactiv, I bought the Sportlines from tirerack.com. I should have a set of coilovers by mid August at the latest and then my springs will be for sale with less than 3500 miles on them.
