lol, sucks but it was always a matter of time. The 48 hour guarantee was always just a 2 for 1 ticket, who's gonna ever spend the time to enforce it? (Maybe a better question is who ever did?)

Besides, rain can be so localized that who's to say my car didn't get rained on if I drove more than a couple km from the station I got it washed at?

Shame nonetheless, unless you always got your washes on a card.

it's the cheapest way to keep my car clean in the winter, as i split the cost 3way.
why do u not recommend the car wash? is it because they use harsh chemicals?

I think it would be better for your car to leave it dirty in the winter. :P Im thinking of using the local coin op and giving it a rinse every few weeks though...maybe....

In the winter on nice days I take my car in for a good soap n rinse preasure wash mainly to get the crap outa the wheel wells and underneath the vehicle to help avoid rusting. By doing this I have avoid of a lot of rusting in any of my vehicles. Car washes can cause "curb rash" lots of surface scratches from the brushes that get used and I have seen many people loose there side mirrors to these. Plus did I mention it scratches the fak out of your vehicle? THEY ARE GOOD FOR JUST A CAR!!! go to the power wash station. Remember not to get to close with the power washer because they have been known to remove paint if held to closely lol.

But to each their own... Just doing it yourself gives you a better bond with your car and you can take more pride in what you do.

On the topic of cleaning. wash your car by hand in the rain! you will end up with zero/ very little hard water marks.

I only use the automatic car washes during the winter months, mainly because they have an undercarriage spray. Either way, i'd only take it to a touchless car wash. I prefer to wash my car by hand though.

+ 100 watch out for the brushes they will leave crazy swirl marks on the paint !
