Hey guys/gals,
So I scratched my 2 year old wayfarers for the first time :( a couple of weeks ago without even noticing it until i put them on next... Not even a small surface scratch but a nice 1inch long scratch. I protect these things to keep them looking new and they were an anniversary gift... but they are a cheap fix compared to car stuff lol.

Sunglasses:
Rayban Wayfarer RB2132 55mm (green non polarized lenses) - Lenses are made of crystal/glass

Been weighing my options for how to fix it and here are the ideas:

1. Scratch doctor/scratch kit = $10
After reading the reviews on this they suck and only work for plastic lenses apparently... but they leave a haze/oil on the lenses.

2. Replacement lenses = $20-$50
Found some places on ebay and some random other sites that sell the lenses but I am up in the air right now. I have a feeling I will go this route unless someone else has a better solution.

3. Replacement Sunglasses = ~$100

If anyone has anyone has suggestions on how to fix it or if they know a good place to get new lenses let me know.

Scratch is on the left lense (right in the picture, beside the light's reflection)

I would get some replacement lens off ebay. I currently have Revant's on my Oakley's. Good for the beach, so if you drop and scratch them in the sand you don't have to worry as much. I think they are around $25-30.

2 years old? I think I have the receipt though lol

Think I might look into the ebay lenses, there are some actual rayban ones there too.

Mine's all scratched up as well from dropping every time on site. So now they act as my safety glasses. :chuckle

Replacement lenses off ebay? I bet you it won't even fit properly at all. If I werw to replace them, I'd get the real ones. Not sure what that cost. But if it's just about the same as a brand new sun glasses, I'd just buy a new one and sell these on kijiji or something.

Gonna ordered some "Revert Lenses" for my scratched "Oakley Straight Jacket Sunglasses" (much worse than my raybans so I figure I can replace these at the same time) and bought some legit "Rayban Wayfarer" replacement lenses for my gashed raybans.

Total cost is gonna be $90 with S+H so that's not that bad for new lenses that are polarized, I had regular lenses in them before so this will be a nice upgrade.

Will post up the fit and finish once I get them.

Sold the car to finance the ebay order :P

Update: Talked to Revert lenses and found rayban lenses $60 total for both, saved $30 by shopping around and talking to the manufacturer.

Yay ebay!

All fixed! Got both lenses on friday and popped out the old scratched up ones and put in the new ones in a snap. Just had to look up on youtube how to bend the frames so I could get out the old lenses without breaking the frames.

I am really happy with the results and I would recommend buying from this guy off of ebay for rayban lenses:

My Oakley Straight Jacket glasses turned out amazing too and the price for polarized lenses from Revant is awesome value.

Replacing the lenses is definately a viable option for making your sunglasses look as good as new and work even better (polarized vs. regular lenses).
