I was hoping to get some helpful advice from everyone here. I took the "mazda 3" badges off my car and need a helpful idea on how to fill the three holes that the "mazda" badge has to clip in to the trunk. My initial plans is to see if i can pull out the three clips in the trunk, then filling it with some bondo or some of that silicone like body filling agent. then i was simply planning on buying some of the color matching mazda paint and painting over it. My questions are simply, is using bondo or the body filler stuff my best bet or is there something else easier? i also was hoping for help with the paint. i dont know if i would need to sand around the patches down to the metal or just paint over it, and i know the matching color stuff is supposed to match, but i want some personal help so that i dont have a random spot of different color on my trunk.

hoping to recieve some helpful advice and maybe get this done before the fall or the snow comes.

No point in using bondo just for the sake of taking off your badges. Then you have to sand, prime, paint, clear coat to get everything smooth. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing that unless they were repairing rust.

Also, use the search function - gives you lots of advice on what others have done

I just used color matched vinyl to cover up the holes.
I had a pearl white car, so just bought some pearl white vinyl.
I cut small circles; just big enough that it just covers the holes.
This lasted 5+ years for me with no issues. Cost me next to nothing.
