hello all,
Last night i witness something pretty shocking/terrifying.
at around 1:30AM this morning i arrived home from the gym. Walking to my house i hear a car alarm go off. looking at the car i see a man in all black run from the car into my neighbors backyard. Immediately i called the police.. 3 squad cars and 2 k-9 units arrived. This morning i found out that my other neighbors car was broken into and had various items stolen from it. In my subdivision in the past 3 months id say there have been about 7 police calls about break-ins. i dont know why all of a sudden my subdivision is so targeted.... I live in the richmond hill (baview & Bloomington). This is just a reminder to everyone to ALWAYS lock your doors. Speed3 guys if you have an AP on the dash.. take it off before leaving! before going to bed make sure all the doors in the house are locked...
just trying to make the community more safe!
take care...

I know this is Canada and all but this is... kinda common sense.
Nevertheless thanks for the heads up!

yea, but some people (like myself) think it would never happen near me untill you actually witness it!

same reminder goes to Hamilton guys. our mazda suv was broke into while parking in an underground garage, along with 10 other cars. Don't leave your car in a mess, it only signals thieve that some valuable might be left behind. Our other car didn't get broken in because I had nothing visible inside the car and it was tinted too

my friend over in the apartment next to me had his prelude broken into 3 times within a week. all underground with cctv cameras.
thieves are becoming more and more bolder as they get desperate for quick money. and sadly, these theives just target random cars weather they be covered in gold or mcdonalds. theres always something of value inside a car. chances are theyre targeting multiple cars around town to make as much money as possible. its all a very quick process and they can be gone within 5 minutes with over $500 worth of gear. most likely targets are older cars with less sensitive alarm systems. nothing has to be broken or mangled just to get in a locked car. all it takes are the right tools and knowledge.
park your car indoors, in front of cameras/lights, or high traffic areas where your car can be seen by everyone. there are people out there willing to stop crime from happening.

A while back my car was broken into.. after that i take all my valuables out and leave the doors unlocked.. When it was stock stereo at least.
People dont really hotwire cars anymore, that being the case id rather somone open my door, find nothing and leave then pay for a broken window..
Unless you witness someone breaking into cars cops wont show up.
Break ins happen every night everwhere.. At least 10 calls per night come over the radios in mississauga alone for peoples houses being broken into.

Also they're realizing the police do nothing but take a report and give you a copy to file to insurance. There's no follow investigations unless someone was severely hurt or the theft was extensive in worth. Even with a state-of-the-art alarm system and loud warnings, as long as they can get in and out in a minute or two, before police show up, they've essentially gotten away scott free. It sucks really.

In Guelph in my area we have had some problems with break in's. People leave their cars unlocked without thinking. Especially if you don't have a fob. My car was broken into when I lived in Rockwood but never in Guelph. I got an egg thrown at my window but it happened to a bunch of people. But it increases. Its these stupid wigger kids who don't work and figure stealing is the best way.
