My first (single) MVA. Struck Trailer hitch on road

On my way home tonight I struck a trailer hitch on Keele. It was unavoidable, right in the middle of the lane, in traffic with a bus on my right and oncoming traffic turning left down the center lane. Managed to slow down a bit and center it rather than run it over with the wheel and make a mess.
I'm lucky that damage was actually minimal. it took a chunk out of my splash guard and nicked the heat shield on its way out. No leaks or CEL ect.
pulled over and collected it off the road so someone else wouldn't hit it
I'm glad i only have Prokits or this would have been much worse.

Well so far this year I have run over at least for decent sized turtles and last year when I was driving to Florida I hit a huge ass one crossing the interstate and it looked like shrapnel shooting out of the back of my car.

Feel your pain. Drove over sheet metal last year and scraped up some paint on the passenger door..

Speaking of running over random things, this morning I saw something that looked like a fur coat on the road. Didn't think much of it till I got close and saw it move and turn around. Silly coon was just sitting in the middle of the road chillin. Missed it at the last second.

Sucks. Glad the damage was minimal. I hit a road gator in June on the 401 and it obliterated my front lip.

Took my previous lip (which I had cracked on a sidewalk) and am getting it repaired and painted.
